Haven, 5 recs, Audrey Parker/Nathan Wuornos
(I know that effie214 just posted about this pairing, but really, I'm trying to drag as many people into this fandom as possible and what better way of doing that than by reccing awesome fic?)

Why This Must Be Read: Last summer, once I'd been drawn wholeheartedly into Haven and ended up watching fourteen episodes in two days, I went on a mad Audrey/Nathan fic search. There wasn't much at the time, but this fic was out there to be read and so very, very good. Set in S1, Audrey's decided it's time to move out of the B&B and is on the search for a place to live. The real gems in this story are the secondary characters, who are bang-on and wonderfully quirky. Audrey and Nathan's characterizations are perfect too. Mostly gen but definitely worth the read.

Why This Must Be Read: This is another fic that really stood out in my initial search last summer. Set sometime between Ain't No Sunshine and The Trial of Audrey Parker, Audrey quits the FBI, moves out of the B&B (yeah, I know, sounds similar to the first rec, but only on the surface of it), and enlists Nathan's help to set up her new place. Sweet moments, snappy one-liners, and a warm fuzzy feeling at the end of it all. Can't go wrong with this fic.

Why This Must Be Read: Honestly? For Duke. For Duke's reaction to Audrey and Nathan, and their reaction to him; they leave a smile on my face every time. And because it really is impossible to keep secrets in a town like Haven, even if the people involved are detectives. This fic is one of my go-to's when I need something lighthearted to read. Early-mid S2 fic. (In the interests of full disclosure and potential bias, I should mention that december21st and I are beta buddies and spend more time than is probably healthy pointing out random facts to each other and trying to figure out the secrets of this town, but I'm certain the quality will stand on its own.)

Why This Must Be Read: This fandom does not have nearly enough long fics, and of the ones that are out there it's even harder to find one that's well-written. An apparent suicide takes an odd turn -- this is Haven, after all -- but the case becomes that much more urgent when one of their own starts displaying the same symptoms others suffered shortly before their deaths. The Audrey/Nathan is mostly friendship with some UST but some days, I like my 'ship subtle. Written late S1; now AU. (The author has posted on her ff.net profile page that there is an upcoming sequel to this fic, but that was months and months ago and nary a glimpse. Perhaps a few nudges in the form of feedback would encourage the muse....) (And check out some of her other fics while you're there.)

After everything she lives through five times over on that terrible day, Audrey starts pulling away from her friends in a well-intentioned but misguided attempt to protect them (and herself) from being hurt. At least, she tries to pull away; Nathan, as you might imagine, just isn't going for it. Just... I don't even have words. Go. Read. Leave feedback.
