Why This Must Be Read: I joined this fic about ten chapters in, and waited eagerly for the last seven. When Hodges sister and her husband die in a car accident, Hodges takes custody of their two children, and it's the story of how he and Wendy grow closer because of that. It's full of ups and downs and sadness and hope, and the realness of it is what really strikes you. She creates an intriguing backstory for Hodges, and although sometimes the characters waver in their in-characterness, this can mostly be attributed to the extreme situation in the fic, and she generally does an excellent job of taking the characters we know and love from the show and transporting them into this world.
Also, to decrease the spam, I'm going to go back and add an Andy Wyatt/Toby Ziegler fic and a Jed Bartlett/Abbey Bartlett fic to my earlier West Wing post and another Discworld rec to the Discworld post, so as to decrease the spam a little.
