stars_inthe_sky Why This Must Be Read: A not-quite-canon consideration of Eleven, just before he regenerates. While Clara’s of course there, his revisiting of earlier companions-especially the Ponds and especially River-is tender and, to me, fits the tone that his actual send-off got quite nicely.

stars_inthe_sky Why This Must Be Read: Fandom is pretty positive that River and Jack know each other somehow and have a great, if at times complex, friendship, and this fic draws that out beautifully-in their friendship with each other as well as their respective relationships with the Doctor. I particularly appreciate the investigation into why neither of them ultimately travels with him full-time.

stars_inthe_sky Why This Must Be Read: This OC stranger’s view of the quartet is kind if confused, and I love the sweet ways she interacts with them, especially while they’re all really trying not to screw up the timeline too much.

stars_inthe_sky Why This Must Be Read: AUs! AUs everywhere! From one of my favorite authors for this ship, this collection is a delightful, clever, and unexpected octet of explorations of the Doctor and River across all sorts of times and places. Enjoy.
