Why This Must Be Read: The Game is a Stanford tradition, but Sam’s first Hallowe’en away from his family won’t just be puzzles and innocent sleeplessness. Is he hunting for clues, or is something hunting him? This story is my favorite Sam-at-Standford fic, a subgenre of Supernatural fic that I can’t get enough of. It’s densely written, beautifully constructed, and says so much to me about who Sam was at this point in his life and the wounds he’s carrying around.
