Why This Must Be Read: In the episode "A Christmas Carol," the Doctor mentions accidentally married Marilyn Monroe. Although this fact was confirmed by River in "The Husbands of River Song," it was popular headcanon to believe the Doctor had been mistaken in thinking he married Marilyn Monroe and that he had married River instead.
In this fic, the Doctor is accidentally drugged with River's hallucinogenic lipstick and believes she's Marilyn Monroe. River takes advantage of him while he's in his drugged state while making sure their encounter doesn't attract unnecessary attention.
