Why This Must Be Read: This is a really good post-series adventure in which Luke and Lorelai decide that they really need to get their stuff together and work on their relationship. It's also a great rotating POV with both April and Rory and the various places and detours their lives take. Everyone in this comes off quite relatable and while it has a problem or two here or there, it's an ambitious, fantastic piece of work that is well worth your time!

Why This Must Be Read: I'm reccing these two because I have MASSIVE love for the 'what if they met earlier' trope (see also:
Variations in the Key of Luke, linked by another reccer!) AS WELL AS Luke & Rory parental interaction (see also:
Father's Day, 2007). This author does a really great job of growing Rory and Luke's relationship as well and carefully as it does with Luke and Lorelai. There's actually a Luke and Richard interaction in the first story that MAKES MY ENTIRE LIFE. The second story is basically gleeful happy-ending wish-fulfillment.
