Why This Must Be Read: Sometimes, you don't realize you're falling in love with someone until it's too late. Even though everyone's saying otherwise, Rebecca is adamant she's not falling in love with Greg (Until she isn't anymore.) I love fic that feels like it's conversations you're having with your friends -- this fic has honest conversations, people who deny their feelings like you would in life, and texting patterns that are the patterns I use with my friends.

Why This Must Be Read: I freaking love soulmate AUs, and doubly so soulmate mark AUs, which don't really exist in romcom or sitcom world, which I think is weird, because there's always a misunderstanding with regard to soulmarks in fics. It's always painful and that's evident here, and you want to slap the characters into JUST TALKING ABOUT THEIR PROBLEMS. This fic has everything: Jealousy, Confrontation, White Josh. And honesty, eventually.

Why This Must Be Read: In a new relationship, the little details are the most important things. You know the outline of a person, and filling in the details is the fun, exciting part. There's a line that's stuck with me for the last month since I read this fic for the first time, and it's "When he presses a kiss to the side of her head, it’s not natural-they haven’t quite learned how to navigate each other’s space-but it feels nice." and I feel like that sums up new relationships so well. This is my fill-in-the-blank for the parts we didn't see of "Why is Josh in a Bad Mood?"

Why This Must Be Read: First of all, give me every You've Got Mail AU ever. Rebecca and Greg are volatile enough that their relationship can be up and down on any given day. That's what made Kathleen and Joe work, and it SUPER works through this online dating service. And the Grand Romantic Gesture that takes place at the end is one of my favorites, to this day.

Why This Must Be Read: Snake Juice is basically Rat Poison. Every fandom that takes place in a bar should have its characters under the influence of this Kahlua style liquer at some point. Heather is awesome, White Josh continues to be the best, and though it's not as overtly 'shippy as other fics, it was so perfect for the time it was written. The tension, the insults/flirting, the weird conversations when you don't know if you like someone or hate their breathing guts -- it's so perfect for this stage of Greg & Rebecca.

Why This Must Be Read: God bless HIMYM for introducing the world to Intervention Banners, because I think they're a detail that makes a fic feel real to me. As you may have been able to tell over the last month, I am a person who loves every stupid trope in the book, and this includes locking two people in a room until they put their face on the other's face. The twist at the end had me literally screeching to the point where my neighbor came and knocked on the door to make sure everything was okay.
