Picking up immediately post Monroe's supposed execution, this doorstop of a fic luxuriates in all of the details of the post-Blackout world, domestic life with the Mathesons and their cadre, and the fight against enemies known and unknown. Superb.

For Bass Monroe, it's an unexpected, impossible bond with Charlie Matheson that turns out to be the only thing that can tether him to reality.
