Hello and welcome to February! I am
jaq_of_spades (Or JaqofSpades if you want to visit me at Tumblr or A03) and I'm going to bring you 29 recs for the 29 days of this leap-year February.
I'm going to start with several rare pairs from the now-cancalled NBC show, Revolution. These are the pairing even the most devout Revolution fan doesn't know fic existed for!
Fandom: Revolution
Pairing: Mia Clayton/Bass Monroe
Title: Crown the King
Author: Corycides

Why This Must Be Read: Corycides is still the reigning queen of Revolution fic and here she shows us why. Mia Clayton and Bass Monroe never share screen time, merely a prickly relationship with Miles Matheson and a survival instinct second to none. Mia is drifting, looking for a purpose, and if nothing else, Bass Monroe is always a man with a plan. Superbly written, characterised and conceived in grudging compliance with the post-series canon given to us in the Revolution web comic.
Fandom: Revolution
Pairing: Duncan Page/Miles Matheson
Title: One Bag of Diamonds
Author: TexasRevoFan

Word Count/WIP?: 2827/No

Why This Must Be Read: In canon, we meet Duncan Page as the mysterious New Vegas warlord who has a mysterious past with Bass Monroe. TexasRevoFan (formerly Lemonsaresweet) takes that past and runs with it, providing us with a credible if disturbing Duncan and Bass backstory, and some very, very hot Duncan and Miles smut. These two aren’t even pretending to have feelings for each other, simply scratching a long-festering itch.
Fandom: Revolution
Pairing: Nora Clayton/Connor Bennett
Title: Otra Vez?
Author: romeokijai

Why This Must Be Read: Nora Clayton is widely loved in the Revolution fandom and it is generally agreed that she deserved better than her ultimate fate (and the Rachel-fixated Miles Matheson.) Thank goodness for fanfic: in this short, but blissfully sweet interlude, Nora finds their common language is the start of a bond with Bass Monroe’s Mexico-raised son, Connor Bennett. The other two stories in this series (They speak a language all of their own) are focused on Charlie Matheson/Bass Monroe, but feature Nora and Connor in the background (and a hilarious Connor voice.)
(Mods, can I have ship tags for Nora Clayton/Connor Bennett, Duncan Page/Miles Matheson, and Mia Clayton/Bass Monroe.)
