Oh, wow. Wow. Yes, the cliche has been thoroughly subverted. Every part of this is fantastic, the first line, the last, the conversation with Zargabaath, "the proper hero of a tale..."

But I think my favorite was his attempt at the ritual, her impurities that were no such thing, his reaction to the word judged. I adored this piece. Thanks for writing it!

Thanks! I had so much fun with this one, especially when it came to bits like designing the ritual; I love looking at the larger world and examining how aspects of it affect even the most intimate moments.

This was beautiful. I loved the mythology you've worked in here, the description of Gabranth's ritual and how he can't stop thinking of Drace throughout.

Thank you! The mythology was my favorite part, and Drace's presence ended up echoing that really well, oddly enough: both ended up being unseen forces acting on Gabranth's mind throughout the fic.
