It was a cold night for autumn weather. Too cold for her liking; she cuddled up closer to the blanket that was wrapped firmly around her small shoulders.
Looking from under her thick lashes, she glared at the culprit who had caused her to be so cold in the first place for the umpteenth time. By the shrug of his shoulders, she knew he felt it and didn’t seem to care she was pissed off. Like always, Spike never seemed to mind someone else’s feelings.
Mumbling to herself about men and directions, she laid down on the make shift bedding that had been made from her extra clothes and extra blanket Spike gave up…unwillingly to her. Closing her eyes, she tried to find sleep that so desperately was calling for her to slumber in a bed of silk and satin comfort.
This had to be the worst mission ever gone wrong.
It had started out fine until Spike didn’t want to listen to any voice or reasoning.
Her mind without thinking started follow through the day until her moment of sleeping in the coldness with an idiot who just didn’t seem to care his body was shivering.

Chasing a huge bounty that could pay for two weeks worth of food, Spike and Faye had split from Jet and went after their bounty in Spike’s one seat vessel. She would have been fine taking her own but unfortunately, that wasn’t going to happen. Her beautiful ship had been sitting in the hanger of the Bebop with its engine gutted out no thanks to Edwards need to explore. Faye was still fuming that Ed had to have a fancy for her ship of all the ones on Bebop.
After noticing the mess of her ship, Jet had yelled for Faye to jump in Spike’s. Faye wanted no parts and even asked to borrow Jet’s only to get a skeptical look from the man.
“No way. I don’t let no woman touch my ship.” He had grunted out giving her the impression of a huge monkey with his face stiff the way it was.
Faye rolled her eyes. Men and their things were ridiculous. Just as she was about to try again the Bebop rocked with unsteadiness, sending them all flying forward. Jet and Edward along with the dog stuttered backward then forward as they tried to catch their ground. Faye on the other hand, lost her footing and landed straight into Spike’s chest as he leaned backward onto his ship’s wing.
If her feet would just have cooperated, she would have been able to get away from him. Unfortunately, they were tangled in between Spike’s long legs and she couldn’t help but blush a bit of crimson on her cheeks. Hearing the rise and fall of his breathing, Faye felt like she were going to burn red in the face if she stayed like that any longer.
Luckily, and at the same time unfortunately, the ship tilted to the other side, sending them flying off one another and into the other side of the ship’s walls. Faye’s back went into the wall first, her body arched from the impact making her grimace as she felt extra weight pushing against her chest. When she tried to move her legs to try and get adjusted, she realized why exactly she was running out of air. Spike’s head was pressed firmly against her chest, knocking the air out from her lungs before she could process it.
When her eyes fully focused in on the bounty hunter’s head fully nestled between her breasts, Faye wasn’t sure if she should freak out, turn another shade of red or beat him to a pulp. Valentine ended up doing all thee above as her hands went towards his head, pushing him out from her cleavage as her body lit on fire once catching notice of his smoldering eyes. The only thing felt she still had ability over was her arm and so swinging it, she knocked him straight on his ass as she tried to catch her breath. Spike just languidly rubbed his cheek before turning his gaze back toward his ship, something that was more precious to him than anything. “We better get a move on, otherwise it will be you buying everyone dinner for slowing us down.” He mumbled nonchalantly before turning to face the now red faced Faye with a smirk. “I sure hope you know how to cook little lady.”
“You egotistical…”
BANG! Another solid knock hit the Bebop on the side and Faye finally decided she would deal with the idiot later and jumped in on Spike’s back to fit in the cockpit. “Faye get your damn elbow out of my eye.” Spike grunted as he hit the engine and started to fly out of the corridor.
“As soon as you move your damn leg over so I can adjust!” Spike bit back as he felt her leg slide against his inner thigh. God she was going to kill him if she kept that up.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately, Spike’s engine decided to die and Faye had an idea to coast the Mar’s gravity but Spike wouldn’t have it. Instead he pulled further out, losing sight of the bounty and then tossing them farther and farther away from the Bebop.
Now they laid stranded in the middle of Earth and it was cold at this time of year there.
Faye shivered uncontrollably before putting her hands close together to warm up.
“Faye,” she could hear the idiot calling her but she didn’t wish to listen and instead tried to tune him out with her own thoughts. ‘I wonder if the idiot is going to ever apologize and tell me I was right and he was wrong…’ she mentally laughed, ‘yeah, that’s a highly unlikely possibility.’
“Faye there is a tarantula crawling on your shoulder…”
‘Even if he did own up to it, he would still wear a damn smug face and-’ Her mind snapped at the word tarantula as her body was a step ahead of her as she flung herself out of her bedding. Stomping around the campsite as her hands frantically tried to push off the tarantula; she couldn’t help but hear the chuckling coming from the other side of the camp fire.
Huffing as she drove her foot around, she finally saw the black arachnid fall to the ground in a dust ball before slowly scrambling towards the desert night. Her chest heaved hard as she tried to calm herself down.
Laughter still rung throughout the campsite and two green eyes finally looked to find Spike holding his stomach from tightly.
“I hope you’re in immense pain…otherwise I’ll personally assist you to get there.” Faye stormed over to find Spike trying to stop laughing only to break out once again into another episode.
“Spike,” he heard the growl above him before the swift kick to his groin made him stop breathing completely.
“Jesus Christ” Spike wheezed as he held his pants with one hand and placed his other near Faye’s foot. “Are you trying to kill me?”
“If it keeps me from not thinking about the cold, then yes. I am trying to.” Faye smiled; putting her hand on her hip she eyed him with a look of smug satisfaction. He scoffed…that was his look after all, only he was allowed to do that.
Spike slowly inched his hand toward the woman’s ankle that was oblivious to the movement as she continued to peer at him above her standing pose above him. “Is that right.” At the nod from his shipmate, he snagged his hand around her ankle quickly as Faye gasped before pulling her down toward him until she fell to the ground.
“You son of a -” Faye muttered as she tried to push Spike away. His body fell over top of hers as he kept his weight on her chest. The blankets that had been put down for bedding continued to twist in between the two bodies as they struggled for dominance. “Spike, let me up!” Faye pushed her hands against his hard chest but couldn’t break the hold he had on her waist until she was panting for air and had to stop all movements.
“You’ve given up that easily?” Spike breathed as he tried to get in what little air he could with Faye pressing directly on to his lungs.
Faye twisted her ankle around her companion and twisted herself so she locked him to where he laid.
“Ha!” She grinned.
Spike’s huge grin made her own falter.
“Did you think I would hate the position were in?” His eyes danced about with humor as the woman on top of him finally realized how much of an awkward state she was really in. Moving back, she was snagged by her own ankle locked with Spike’s boot.
The next thing she knew, his lips were next to her ear. “Hate to break it to ya princess,” her body suddenly became hot with an indescribable need for the man below her to touch him “it’s not working.”
“Uh-huh.” Faye leaned her head closer to his, allowing his lips to touch her ear as he sucked lightly.
“Faye,” The bounty hunter’s clothes seemed to become an annoyance as the woman felt the need to feel his skin touching hers. She motioned her head towards him to see his eyes were reflecting the same kind of want and need she felt. Damn him to hell. “I guess you’re not so cold anymore.” Spike smirked as his lips teased hers until they fully kissed.
Damn this man to hell along side her.
