Last night I dreamed I had a third leg. I think I was on my way to the prom, weirdly enough. The leg was covered in pink kernels of corn and green peas, so I didn't know it was a leg at first. Then I scratched away at the covering and revealed new, raw-ish skin beneath. Behold, a third leg. It seemed to be attached to my pelvic area at different places as the dream progressed. I stomped around some and reflected on how odd it was to have this strange-looking thing attached to me that I'd never known existed before.
Penis envy? Freudians, dissect away.

I forgot to pimp
double_helix's new icon site the other day. Bad me. It is called
La Maison Blanche and you will find a whole lot of pretty damn good lookin' there.

ETA:
suelac just put up a great
post about the origins of people's issues with "status" in fandom.

jeviltwin reproduced a pretty nastily offensive Salon.com
article about this season of Angel, as well as people's
reactions to it. All that righteous fury in those letters to the editor gives me a woody. (tm Aeryn Sun)
There's also a fascinating discussion about Wednesday's episode in
eliade's
comments, focusing on Angel's slip of the tongue and what his true motivations, if any, might be.
I feel out of touch with the show, and am regretful about that. I want to get to know Angel and Wes and Gunn and yes, even Fred again. Right now there's so much to unpack from the state of things. It seems to me there are all kinds of stories for fanfic to spin out of what we're seeing on screen: meetings and ponderings happening during the commercial breaks, when certain characters aren't present, behind closed doors, after the credits roll. Even though I haven't been blown away yet by this season, I'm beginning to trust again that the writers have a plan. It's just a feeling I have. One tiny exchange of dialogue, and all of Angel fandom on LJ the next morning was a-twitter. Yeah, Joss has that gleam in his eye, all right.

New pics for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban at
The Leaky Cauldron, as well as a page with all previously released ones
here. Excitement doesn't even begin to cover it.
As for people who are criticizing the way certain new actors look in their parts? Please. Did you even SEE the last two movies? Anything would be an improvement over that crap, especially a director with the balls to take some artistic license with the source material (the pages of which, you know, are not fashioned out of gilded lilies). And frankly, after Y Tu Mama Tambien, I'd come running if Cuaron blew a dog whistle at me. (bad pun intended)
So yeah. Naysayers, please do the rest of us in fandom a favor and get over yourselves, 'mmkay?
