So Shadrach is still drinking. Marlon has a go at him, and then keeps trying to convince Shadrach his life is worth living and he talks about Laurel and Daniel and then Shadrach is convinced and starts crying and awwwww. Marlon pours Shadrach’s drink away.
Val and Diane were talking and getting teary. Val was asking what Diane’s going to do when Charlie dies :(
Maisie, meanwhile, was wearing a very pretty dress. Will and Maisie went to the café, for some reason. Oh wait, it was so Nikhil and Jai could walk in.
“And you let that one get away.”
Ew, you precocious oddly quiet child.
Nathan was planning! But his plans are awful! He was going to put Faye’s coat back and then they need to hide the gun. He sent Natasha off to distract Faye.
“It’s you I’m worried about.”
Haha, yeah right, Natasha.
“Now go on. Make friends.”
Natasha goes to Faye’s. “Don’t shoot.” Hahahahaha
“Can I buy you a drink?”
“Now?”
“No, Christmas.”
“Cupid strikes in the strangest of places.” (Diane, in the pub)
Hahaha, Natasha/Faye would have been ace, especially if Mark found out about it.
Nathan buries the gun…near the garage. Is that where Faye lives, or is he trying to frame Ryan as well? Meanwhile, Nathan puts Faye’s jacket back and then takes a necklace, ffs.
Nathan can’t get out of the front door because of Jai and Amber, and he has this smile on his face again, and it is creepy.
Nathan then calls Natasha from the house phone - Jesus fuck, Nathan, you fail at crime - and tells her it’s done.
Faye tells Natasha to go for it with Declan.
“When you think about it, I did us a favour coming back.”
Nikhil and Jai argue again, but this time Nikhil leaves without his phone and Jai calls Amber, wtf?
AMBER TURNS UP! And looks very familiar, I’ll have to look her up. She says she’s going to stay for a few days. Why? Doesn’t she have anything better to do?
“What’s your very special rate?”
“Ten pounds more than the usual rate, she looks loaded.”
I love Diane and Val.
“Well, take him clubbing, Declan.”
Hahaha, Jai pushes Declan into keeping Nikhil out of the way.
I wish I had a sarcastic, snappy name to give this show.
I missed the first ten minutes. It didn’t make any difference, it was still dumb.
The plot was actually interesting - the girlfriend of a man who killed a child got her identity leaked - but as usual, the outcome was mediocre.
The good: Shaun Parkes looking good in suits, and not trusting John. Oleg from Spooks 804 and Sarah Smart (I love her) as the woman at the centr of the story.
The bad: the team doesn’t gel. There are a couple of relationships that almost do, but I can’t imagine what they do on their time off.
John. AARGH, John. Going against a direct order to stay and look after Sarah Smart and her son to go sort some thing with his other plotline, then just being better than everyone else at figuring out what’s going on again. Even the sub-Tom Quinn wibbling about spending too long undercover didn’t impress. Oh, and his tiresome ego, OH FUCK OFF.
The reasoning for the whole plot being set up: Sarah Smart’s character had been in witness protection for years, staying quiet, keeping her head down, and then her son got refused a school place, so she and her probation officer decided to set up a kidnap plot to get the original reward (offered by the father of the kid who died). Really? REALLY?
