I got back late last night from the first Mystery School event of the year, where several lessons were learned.
1. "Stepping into Rites requires putting a much larger focus on the group's process than on your own personal work" does not mean, "Sweet! I won't have to worry about personal work while I'm here!" Instead, it is more likely to mean, "Oh, so I'll be working through my personal stuff in a very immediate way and focusing on the group's experience simultaneously. Oh, goody."
2. This community continues to make me shake my head in wonder, particularly at its willingness to dive into the deep end so readily.
3. Our Rites team is going to do some pretty amazing work. I'm going to have to really be on my toes to even keep up with the rest of the team, something that I find both exhilarating and scary.
4. If one's partner says, "You know, I really don't want to talk about this right now, what with ritual happening in 45 minutes and you being focused on your role therein," one should not then say, "No, really, tell me all about it right now." Man, I'm dumb sometimes.
5. If this is where we've started the year...holy crap. This is going to be quite something.
