In anticipation of OOtP next week and Deathly Hallows the week after, C and I have been rewatching the Harry Potter films. Rather, I have been re-watching and he has been watching some of them for the first time.
It is amazing watching them through the eyes of someone who hasn't been in the fandom and hasn't read the books (he has been flicking through one of my copies of OOtP). I have also finally been able to separate the book canon from the film canon and having done so, I am quite looking foraward to seeing the film and reading the final book.
Over dinner we have been discussing the various theories and I have been debunking and spoilering as we go along but I am not theorising too much any more - two weeks and we'll all know!
In other news, I am just over two months in to my new job. One of my sales guys resigned to go and do shift trading (the glorified term for operations), a job which I did over seven years ago - good luck to him, but I don't think it will be quite what he is expecting - as far as I can tell he is expecting to be tradingk, making large bonuses and being invited out to events. It is unlikely to happen that way, and even if it does that will only be after everyone else in line ahead of him has either left or moved into front office. Good luck to him, anyway. It isn't all bad, of course - I have also emplyed two new account managers, both of whom start later this month.
I also have my first performance review next week which appears to be nothing out of the ordinary.
With the exception of increased security last week the commute is no problem. This is partly to do with the fact that my company really does believe in flexible hours which means I can arrive at 8:30 and leave at 4:30 and get home about seven. The two hours each way goes remarkably quickly and because I get up at 5:30 every day, when I have to go to the Amsterdam office I only have to get up one hour earleir and I get home about the same time as a normal day.
That is my quick round up of my incredibly dull life. I will try harder, I promise.
