Well, i'm now here, two days after Minus 18, sitting at my parents house in Oaklands, NSW. Now, for those of you who don't know, Oaklands is a small town of about 250 people sitting in the Southern Riverina. Its about an hour and a bit from Albury/Wodonga. I'm on school holidays at the moment, so thats why i am here.
The day after Minus, i was meant to be meeting my brother-in-law at the KFC on the left hand side of the Westgate Bridge, going into the city. Gawd, i had fun getting there! I had decided that the night before I was catching the train into Flinders st. Station and getting on the Werribee line and getting off at a station called Spotswood or something like that. From there i was meant to walk up Melbourne Road and be at the right KFC. But that all changed when Ken woke up in the morning.
As Ken used to be a huge-ass manager at a bus company, he knows all about bus routes. He told me to catch to 232 bus from the corner of Flinders st. and Queen st. So, i went to Queen street and i waited for a bus. When i saw the 232 come, i stepped onto the road and put my arm out to hail it. So, as i thought it was pulling up, i got off the road. The bloody bus kept on going! I was so not happy! So, i had to wait around for another 20 minutes until the next bus came. So I waited, and then i saw the next 232 bus coming. So i thought, "stuff you mate," and i stepped on the road, and made it perfectly clear that i was waiting for that bus. So, i got on the bus, and he asked where i was going, and i told him that i wanted to go to the Westgate bridge. He said i was on the wrong side of the road! the WRONG SIDE!!! so i ran over to the pther side and caught the bus to the Todd Road On-Ramp.
From there i was meant to find an underpass and walk under it to the other side of the Highway and go to the KFC. But i wasn't able to find the underpass ... So, i went to the service station, and asked how i get to the other side. The man there had no idea and suggested that i may as well walk back up to the round-about [which was heaps before the bus stop] and go around there. I didn't really appreciate this idea, so i went to KFC. I asked them about the underpass, and pointed me in the direction -- it was behind the KFC. So, i walked under the underpass and made it over to meet Jason.
When i met Jason, who had only just got there himself, he told me the bad news; that he was not loaded yet!!! So, we made it to the CUB depot at 4pm. We were there for a while, i spoke on the phone to Dean and Darren. By the time we left it was 8.15pm! four and a quarter hours!!! AAaargh! it was horrible. So, we then started our trip back to Albury. As i had nearly fallen asleep in the cabin while waiting to be loaded with the alcohol, Jason suggested that i take a sleep in the bed while he drove. He woke me up just as we got to his and Sandis' [my sis'] place. It was 2am when i finally got to Sandi's place.
When i got there, i went to the front door, which was unlocked. I went in, and nearly killed myself on five different things trying to make it to the kitchen. Sandi had already prepared dinner for the two of us. I heated it up, and ate it ... gawd, it was good ... Gotta luv sausages and vegies! After dinner i went and slept on the couch. Jaconb, my 5 month old nephew woke up at about 3, and i went and slept in the spare bed. It was quite a good sleep, however, i was woken by my other nephew by him jumping in bed with me and screaming 'good morning!' at 5am.... Was not impressed.
So i just spent all of yesterday at my sisters place. I saw my aunty Jill, who, i swear, is blonder than Paris. My parents also come to Albury as my mother had to have X-rays done and to pick me up. So, we drove out to Oaklands, which is where i am now. On our way out, i ran into Trav, who was a guy who hit on me at my last school. He was working at the Lavington Coles supermarket. I have only seen Tyral [who used to be my best friend] and he didn't seem too phased that i had come to see him. I spent most of the time talking to his mother, Kathy, who has always pretty much been my second mother.
Dean rang me, and there might be a chance that he is coming out to Oaklands! Thats good, but it's bad ... lol. So, tomorrow i might be having to get mother to drive me to the Albury train station to pick him up and then back here before she goes to work at the local hotel. I dont' really know how to take my parents though. My father is his usual, distant self. But my mother is all happy and chirpy. Hmmm, it kinda makes me wonder what shes really thinking. After all of the months of argueing and bitching, we seem to be getting along.
Oh well, whatever happens happens.
