In which quel is very very sad over the idea that her lovely sister is abandoning her soon

The Longest Day Ever

Tuesday was an intense Ferris Beuller take, I had the time of my life. We started off going to Venetian Pool at around two. We stayed in the water the whole time, and I got hyper while swimming and could not stop laughing. Ummm sha, treading water is very difficult when you’re under the spell of a laughing attack. I nearly drowned multiple times, and once I even scared a lifeguard because I was giggling and my head dipped under and I swallowed some water and then started coughing/giggling insanely. It was great. I got to see many instant replays of my life; it’s quite fascinating, actually, despite what you all may think.

Then it started to rain really hard and didn’t show signs of letting up any time soon, so we hopped into the car and putted our way over to South Beach, where we ate the most delicious and satisfying burritos of the century (sister was craving).

Then suddenly Gene gets the idea that-oh em gee-we can stop at the beach! So much against her will, sister consented to the beach excursion. She’s such a good girlfriend. I should take notes.

Except, within twenty minutes of being in the water, Gene got bitten by something, which I instantly assumed was sea lice, and quickly escaped and accompanied my sister in the sand, where she was standing up and air-drying because we couldn’t lie on the canga and get it all wet and sandy, or she would have no skirt for later. (So basically, it was completely pointless of us to stretch the canga out on the sand to begin with.) Gene was left bobbing in the water alone. It looked pretty boring, I don’t know why he enjoys it so much. In the meantime, we did a pretty good job of embarrassing ourselves (come on, nearly drowning at the Venetian Pool at least four times is SO not enough humiliation for the day) by getting extremely hyper, once again, and having fun playing with our shadows, which were being projected on the sand in front of us by the setting sun behind us. We did shadow puppets, weird dances, the robot, we made letters… It was just too much amusement.

After an hour, we packed up, went home, showered, and headed on over to Barnes and Noble's. I am now ALMOST done with Gossip Girl 5. After we had our full share of bookworming, we headed on home and settled in for the best show ever. Need I name it, or are you all sufficiently aware of how in love I am with two girls whose last name begins with G? Can you say perfect day, or what? Man, if I had had more summer days like that… *longing sigh*

Yesterday I went to work with my sister for the first time in a really long time.
(The following list is in no way exaggerated; it is actually on a post-it stuck above my sister’s computer. It starts at eleven, even though we got in at eight, because we’d already wasted away three hours hanging around the boys in the Wildlife Center and reading, and stuff… You know, the usual):

quel and Analia’s To-Do List 7/28
11 am : play with animals
12 pm : eat
1 pm: shop online/eat
2 pm: eat
3 pm : that party thing that we're throwing for the interns, who are leaving tomorrow--yippee! Party celebrating the departure of the people that annoyed the hell out of us all summer! (Oooh yes, and there will be provisions, so most likely : eat.)
4 pm: leave!

Brilliant, no? I love working at the museum. Can’t wait till I’m old enough to actually get a job there, and get PAID to eat and finish my summer reading. Oh, and play with boob-tailed Randalls, more commonly known as leopard geckos, who collect fat in their tails, thus giving them the EXACT same consistency of boobs. It's so great, I love squishing them.

Today I worked again. We spent the first three hours making fortune tellers and running around the museum making people play them. Elisa, you would love these things, we made a LOTR one, and then a Sin City one! I thought about you the whole time. Actually, the total amount of fortune tellers created amounted to… 13. Work, as you may have guessed, was very slow. To say the least.

Then Alex, whom we were relying on to take us home, ended up completely forgetting us and leaving!!! To make up for it he bought us a dozen of Krispy Kremes, though. Which we devoured. I felt sick for only five seconds. I have an incredibly high tolerance for all things sugary, I’ve noticed…

Now, this evening, I assume we will be watching some Gilmore, we’ve already watched Guess Who (it was ‘aight… They could’ve done more with it…), and we got Talia to agree to taking care of our multitude of animals in our absence.

Speaking of which: ABSENCE! I’m LEAVING! MUAHAHAHAHAHA! Suckers… I am at long last going to experience the fun that EVERYONE ELSE HAS BEEN ENJOYING this summer, while I very silently stood by and collected voodoo dolls in my room!

Catch y’all later.
