Post a single sentence extract from each WIP you have (or as many as you want to pick). No context, no explanations.Because I am a sheep but mainly because I need as many people as possible to kick me in the aft and tell me to start writing and finishing my blasted fics. Was going to reply yesterday, but had to deal with raccoons in the chimney.

I'd like to at least get half of my one shots done before I start working on my longer ones, but when characters demand something, there's not much you can do.

First: This is why we have a thing called anger management classes, Megatron. Maybe you should have learned to control your temper before doing stupid slag like this. There's a possibility that now, Starscream is probably going to be his closest ally. Because once Shockwave hears about this, I doubt his logic will let him follow a leader that harms one of his strongest supporters.

Second: This is what happens when bunnies breed. Started out as a single Autobot secretly working for the Decepticons, then that bunny saw a few other bunnies where there were other 'Bots secretly undercover 'Cons, and well, this is part of what happens. Waaaaaay near the end actually, since the Autobots don't truly realize how screwed they are until the last battle.

By the way, what are you working on anyway? I'm tempted to put up a list of the prompts I got from the Random Pairing Generator so people can give me a good kick when I haven't posted something in a few months.

Hotzone is...in a mood, to say the least. I'm not sure why he's so peeved, but I'm thinking that it has something to do with his experiments or being denied a request to do something. *shrugs* And if there were any explosions, it would probably be caused by him. And I'm horribly amused by the fact a bunch of 'Cons are trying to set up a surprise for a 'Bot.

I'm getting better at the whole heights thing. Now, I only freeze up and have to quickly get down before vertigo sets in. What is even odder is that I'm perfectly comfortable using the big TV antenna attached to the side of the house to get on the roof, but I absolutely refuse to use a ladder to get up there. Or the fact that I'm ecstatic when we do a bunch of crazy maneuvers in the plane, yet I can't stand roller coasters. And I have no idea what it would be called.

That's kinda awesome in its' own aggravating way I suppose.

First: That is all sorts of disturbing. Starscream being Megatrons' closest ally. And yush, Shockwave. Would that mean that the army might split too?

Second: Now I really want to see this story started. *examines various aft-kicking boots*

Pics or fics? Uhhhhh...*pulls up folder* .... *looks at the sheer number of uncompleted images* You know, it just might be easier for me to steal your idea and post a to-do/finish list on my journal and have people poke me.

*snerk* Now I'm imagining that's how they first met. The Sauricons are out playing gravity chicken when one or more of them notices an explosion in the distance and they head over to check it out. There they find a bot covered in whatever residue extremely focused on recording the results of whatever it was he was doing. And instead of the standard reaction of finding someone who was in a blast radius they ask him What were you doing to cause that?! We felt/hear/saw it from *insert however far* away and your plume cloud reached half a mile up, and that was so cool. And then ask even more questions when they learn that the explosion wasn't supposed to happen. And they'd be horribly depressed if he didn't like their surprise, whatever it is.

Ladders I can wholly understand, I've always felt more comfortable climbing trees (even 100+ft monsters) than those things. Crazy maneuvers? How often do you fly, and in what?

A mama and seven babies. The only reason I knew they were even in there was because I was in the shower, heard a tremendous crash, got out and saw that the grate in front of the fireplace had fallen, and inside were six little bundles of fur squirming around. The seventh baby had fallen all the way into the basement.

First: I know, that's why I like the whole idea so much. It makes sense. After all, if you were ruled by logic like Shockwave, or weren't entirely sure of the whole Decepticon cause in the first place, like Thundercracker, when your leader, in a fit of rage nearly kills one of his most loyal soldiers, you're not going to be sticking around for long. I'm thinking of making the cassette that nearly gets offlined be Ravage since he's one of the most loyal to Megatron out of all them.

Second: This one is causing some of the most trouble with me, mainly because it sees more and more bunnies that want to combine with it. And the fact that it wants to start before the war even began and rewrite everything. Ratchet is simply insisting that he was a Flyer before the war and was reformatted into a ground-ling for the purpose of infiltration. It also combines with the fact that I really think that Ratchet would choose some sort of flying alt mode, instead of a ground based one, simply for the fact that no matter how well designed his ground mode is made for off road travel, there's just some places that he wouldn't be able to get to without flying.

*snicker* I quite like that idea of their meeting for the first time. I also think Zone wouldn't even realize the faction symbol they're wearing because he's too concerned what the slag just happened. (Since I have a feeling that whatever he was working with was one of those things that isn't suppose to explode so easily but he somehow pulls a Wheeljack. I also think that they would both be able to accidentally make Argon explode.) I have this one idea where Zone is experimenting with some organic organisms, I'm thinking some sort of extremophiles or something I'm not entirely sure at the moment, it ends up exploding in his face, and for the next week or so, he goes walking around with these strange glowing plants growing all over his arm, to the delight of the rest of the science team and to the dismay of the medics. I'm not sure about anything right now, because my mind is in a fog from allergies and the weather and I can't concentrate on anything. *whines*

I fly whenever I can, which because of a bunch of problems lately, I haven't been able to for a while. Too long in my opinion, but much like a Seeker, I think a week without flying is too much. The plane is just a little two seater, I like the helicopter better though. Just for the fact that the pilot and I can chase peoples cars down the road.

There is now an image in my head of soot covered raccoon kits looking all adorable as only young things can.

First: *sits down to wait for the fic*

Second: If you have to, break up the bunny into multiple parts. "Prequel", story bulk, and a "sequel". Hopefully it won't feel like such a giant if you do it that way. And I really like the idea of a flier med-bot, it makes a lot more sense than a groundling like you said.

Ooooh, Torpedo is all excited to know that he likes extremophiles. Being able to swim the great deeps will come in handy for collecting some to trade for lessons, plus I think the tylosaur somehow inherited Scrappers' love of collecting stuff for the team. Are you doing better? Brain fog is no fun at all, and if your head isn't clear I hope it does so soon.

*stares in awe* So how many pilot licenses do you have, or do you just ride? I'd like to get one sometime in the near future, I've already had a sort of pre-class and once my art starts bringing in extra spending money I hope to go for the real thing. And I'm guessing your two seater is a cessna of some sort?

Oh, those things were squawkers. As soon as I picked them up they started making a fuss like nothing else. They were also all around a week old so yes, they were beyond adorable.

First: You'll be waiting a long while, since most of the stuff I have written for it is only notes. Just like most of my other multi-chapter stuff. That sentence is actually the only thing I have written for it fic wise, since I normally like to make a lot of notes and plot everything out first before I write it, that way I won't write myself into a corner I can't get out of.

Second: That's what I'm planning on doing. Just so I can start getting the ideas out of my head. Does not help that I keep on going back to the Random Pairing Generator. I can quite whenever I want, honest! Also, there's already a prequel for the fic that insists on being written first. It's the reason I'm stalling on it so much because I need to figure out eveyone's motivation for making the choices they do. Ratchet is being the most stubborn of the lot, too. *flails* The idea of Ratchet as some sort of flier just rings true with me, mainly because it's noted that one of his best abilities is actually getting to the wounded. It also fills me up with so much glee if he was actually a reformatted Seeker. Just because of the other Seekers reactions should they ever find out. It also helps with the whole undercover thing, too. It does NOT help whatsoever that the bunnies keep on wanting to combine into one gigantic plot, to the degree that I'm even confusing myself and at times find it difficult what idea goes to what fic.

It's a rather pretty picture, too. They're the kind of blue bioluminescent plants that you see in sci-fi movies and the like, and they also wave around like there's a breeze, even when their isn't. I'm thinking they may be a little sentient/sapient, and will be added to Zone's collection next to Talin. Am now also more clear headed, just exhausted from mowing the lawn and general spring cleaning. Zone would absolutely love getting his hands on some of the harder to acquire specimens, since it'd be more than a little difficult for him to go and get them himself. Not to mention that it fascinates him how organics are able to produce their own light.

Right now I'm only riding with the occasional piloting. Though I'd kill to get up in an F-117 Nighthawk. I'd love to be a helicopter pilot, since when you're a good pilot, the rides smoother than glass. Even my mom, who gets sick from ferris wheels, can ride in the copter without complaint because the pilot is just that good. Also, so long as we know the people in the cars, we can hover about a few feet away from their back bumpers while they're going down the road. And to think, all I have to do is occasionally bring over a case of beer and I can fly as often as I want. I'm quite jealous of them, since they have what they call the ultimate toy box, with planes, helicopters, boats, motorcycles and more. Then again, they're a big family with a huge farm, thus; work hard, play hard. Freaked out the first time they took me flying, because as we were taxiing onto the runway (which is basically one of the fields set aside just for that) there's a big pond at the end of the runway we were at, and as the pilot was turning, the tail kept of dipping down further and further until I thought we were going to end up going backwards into the pond. Aaaaaaaand, I can't remember the type of plane to save my life. I'm horrible with names and pretty much end up giving nicknames to everything.

P.S. Just wanted to let you know, that your art is a great deal of fun turning into icons. ^_^ Would have put more here, but character limits won't allow me.

First: Good plan. I'm not nearly as organized with my fics as you are, bits an pieces pop up and I write as they come to me. It's kind of like a jigsaw puzzle in that regard for me as opposed to anything else.

Second: *amused grin* We are slaves to the muses, no matter how much we fight it. Personally I was seeing Ratchet as a 'copter of some sort because of their maneuverability, but that doesn't really matter to transformers does it.

You know, it's kinda hard to explain but I think it's fascinating how our characters are starting to interact. And I'm glad Hotzone is letting you see more and more of him, which is also my way of asking is he finally letting you write him? Though I'm curious as to how he views my team whose questions will never stop.

That is one lovely toybox, at least you get to play with what's in there despite your jealousy. I've never been flying beyond trips in a commercial airliner, so...yeah. And I say cessna, as that seems to be the most common small plane for pilots. (It's also more or less the only kind I can identify on sight beyond some military models)

P.S. *fansqueals over icons* Feel free to continue and make as many as you want. In fact, I insist. X3

Re: *insert aft-kick icon* heslestor June 9 2009, 14:14:47 UTC
First: When I actually write this, or any fic really, it's much like a jigsaw as well. I have a scene for one of the longer fics and I have absolutely no clue where it goes, just that it belongs somewhere in there. There's just scenes that come to me clearer than others and if I don't write them down, I'll lose them completely.

Second: Oh, I'm under no delusions that the muses don't own my aft. It's the reason I wrote a Spring Kink prompt in the first place. It most likely depends on the verse. In G1 I think any Decepticon or can fly in either mode because of anit-gravs, and so long as you have a flying alt mode, you can fly either way. Same would go for movie verse, too. It would certainly be interesting for Animated verse though, considering the whole 'Autobots don't fly' thing, to the extent that they assume new arrivals to be 'Cons simply based on the fact that they can fly. Which I think is total slag. I mean, how can you have a full functioning military without some sort of air force? Sure they have ships and all, and can use drones. But those things wouldn't stand a chance against a fully sentient/sapient flyer.

It is really neat how our characters are interacting. Now you just need to post your Saur's bios so I can write figure out some of the prompts. There's one or two 28 Meme entries that has them trying to sneak in it. And Hotzone is being a right pain in the aft by telling me ideas but none of the details. I have almost one version of the 28 Meme entirely filled out for him, and am slowly working on the other, but haven't yet started to actually write anything for them. He quite likes your team, though he is baffled at times. It's just so odd to see someone so enthusiastic about his work who also happens to be the enemy. Something he really dislikes the war for. Though many, if not all, of the science mechs feel the same way. After all, before the war, information was exchanged freely, now, it's guarded close to the chest, almost as fiercely protected as energon sources. I am trying to write a Movie verse scene where he first meets Sam and Mikaela and proceeds to thoroughly creep them out, since his reaction to them is so clinically distant. Doesn't help that he's eying them like he wants to strap them to a slide and study them under a microscope.
Then there's the entry for Book Reading: Surprisingly, he doesn't have as extensive a collection of books or data pads on his favorite subjects as many would think he should have. So he has a tendency to go around the other scientists labs and borrow their books, without telling them.
Well Shagged has been giving me problems, too. But I think I may have a solution to it. All I'm saying is shag carpet.

The toybox gets even better. Mainly for the fact that they have a small amount of old (anywhere from 1911-1970s) aviation books that no one in their family is interested in. So, guess who gets to keep them? ^_^

P.S. Ask and ye shall receive. I'm in love with your interpretation for Buzzsaw and Laserbeak. I'm contemplating getting a paid account so I can spring these out at random (not that there's also the fact that I have like fifty million other icons I want to use, too). Still, some of my favorites has to be the energon splatter ones, just they way you do that makes them so slaggin' pretty. Oh! The Wheeljack and giant fuzzy snake one? Totally reminds me of a stuffed toy I had as a child. It was a giant, about 8ft long, black snake, complete with rainbow colored tufts of fur on the end of its tail and around its cheeks. It was so big I could wrap it around myself while I slept.

First & Second: *can't think of anything else to add as everything is agreed with*

I've got Drumlin wanting and near demanding to have Hailstorm in his fic, so it's not just Hotzone of yours that my charas are after. I know, I know, my bad. I'll try to get them up soon, it's been a combination of my being busy (and lazy) and them being stubborn. They don't quite understand his bafflement; they're curious, and he's willing to spend the time answering their questions. It doesn't help not knowing where he's coming from when they don't know a time without the war. That and I have the suspicion they don't really see him as an Autobot at all. Because if true, it explains so much of their attitude towards him. Besides it's not as though he's on the battlefield shooting at them.
*snerk* You have a devious mind, I like it. I even thought about doing the same, but I'm leaning towards the birds. *gleefully ignores the common definition*

Congratulations on your book acquisitions, they sound great.

P.S. Mwah! Those are awesome, icons are something I have trouble with making. So if you do make more, I'm probably going to steal a few. And with the sheer number you have already I'm guessing you save a lot of my art. *ducks head* I'm glad you like my stuff so much. *very flattered* And I remember those snakes, never had one myself but I always thought they were cool.

Well, Hailstorm is currently stationed on one of Jupiter's moons. Io, I'm thinking, with a small group of other 'Cons looking to find some fuel sources that the Autobots aren't really going to be caring about at the moment. He's strutting around the place, too, teasing the other 'Cons with the fact that while they're freezing in their armor, he's quite warm. He's also gleefully teaching them how to make igloos and other more primitive and organic type things to survive the cold.
Darkmatter is actually in the process of becoming a partner to a Targetmaster. Since I've been reading up on snipers some more, the fact that your spotter is also your weapon would most likely be very helpful.
And Novastrike is, well he's off painting his talons a bright pink color right now. All the while straddling a huge cannon he just finished repairing and daring anyone to say a thing about the innuendo. *rolls eyes* He's a bit of a perv when he wants to be.
You know, I haven't even been able to visualize an Autobot symbol on Hotzone anywhere. So, I can see why your Saurs don't truly see him as an Autobot.
I am also eagerly awaiting to see what you do with the birds.
And there's two more OCs in my head that are waiting to come out, so expect something from them in a while.

There was a book sale in front of the Tractor Supply store the other day, and I ended up with a bunch of new books. You ever hear of Demon of the Air? It's an Aztec mystery, and the little bit I've read is good, but then again, I don't know a great deal about the Aztecs so I have no idea how accurate it is or how much artistic license the author is taking. The other one I'm keen on reading is, I Heard the Owl Call My Name. And if nothing else, the blurb on the back makes it worth the money.

P.S. Yeah, you could say I save a lot of your art. *totally wants a shirt with the 'this is my happy face' pic on it.* Here's more general type icons I've made from Transformers comic scans.

Unfortunately Drumlin is on a blizzard like moon/planet(I don't know yet, I haven't been allowed to see more than one outpost) that isn't even near our solar system. Not only is he being stubborn about this but he's also being completely unreasonable, unless you can think of a way for Hailstorm(and obviously trine) to ever be back where Cybertron used to be. He has a good reason for staying where he is and he's not moving. Unless.... wait. *brainstorm*
Anything beyond knowing what they have to constantly compensate for I know nothing of snipers and spotters. But that sounds like a great match up.
*snerk* I don't think any of mine are pervs, though with my own stance I'm not surprised. And if any are, they're not talking.
Nice, good luck with them. I'm not even going to try and introduce ore of mine until I actually have something written.I should just assign myself X amount of time each day to work on fics, otherwise at the rate I'm going the icecaps will melt first.Which is such a scary thought I don't even want to begin to fathom it.

No I haven't. And damnit! Stop sending me all these book recs! No, not really, feel free to continue. I just can't keep up with them all, I haven't even found the earliest ones you've mentioned to me way back when. I've been picking up a lot at garage sales lately, of which Mrs. Byrne's Dictionary and In the Spirit of Crazy Horse you might be the most interested in. The rest were mostly wilderness and wildlife focused, how to's (like woodcarving), and some popular fiction (ex. Dracula).

P.S. Ooooohhh Primus an Unicron. *indescribable facial expression* You did... I did... oohhhh.

See, the thing about my Seekers is that they're a lot like Commandos or Navy SEALS, they're just as efficient alone as they are together. That's one of their main purposes and one of the biggest advantages they have over the other trines. So, Hailstorm is on the moon as the commanding officer of that particular little bunch while his brothers are each doing their own thing. Novastrike probably creating a stock mile of munitions and Darkmatter off assassinating someone. And I love How Stuff Works, it has information on just about anything you want to know about. I'm also using some of the information found in the game Mass Effect to see about alien planets and moons and the like when I want to create my own, it's very useful having a bit of a starting point like that. Do you know how hard it is to find anything about acid rain that doesn't deal with Earth?
Nova is a very big mech with an even bigger personality, it's often joked that if his frame was any smaller (B-1 Lancer's are freaking huge) he'd explode because it wouldn't be able to contain him. Then again, it's gotten to the point where I simply throw up my hands and let them do whatever they want. It is quite fun writing a character that is so very different from your own personality and preferences. There's also the case that Nova simply loves innuendo. The more subtle it is the better, the looks on some mech's faces when they realize what he's been talking about it simply too amusing.
There's also something I want to work into either an OC or a canon character and have no clue how to go about it. After seeing so many fics where a mech is blind and compensates for it with hearing better than Soundwave's, I thought of what it would be like if it was the hearing that was slag. So, someone, for some reason, has audio receptors that aren't worth rusty filings. To compensate, they use their tongue, much like a snake would, to gain the missing information.
And hey now, what's all the brainstorming about? Gotta fill me in on what's going on.

Well, here's another book; On Writing Well. And The Water Mirror. *cackles* Now, excuse me while I put the Dictionary on my wish list.
I got the first one for a writing course and it's full of really nice tips. It even says that no matter what, you should practice a little bit everyday, because if you never write, how is one expected to improve their craft? I've resigned myself to the melting icecaps. If for nothing else, because something like that has happened before and the fact that the only way EVERYONE is going to do anything about this oh so little problem is most likely when it gets beyond critical. Scary yes, but slag like that is going to happen whether we like it or not.

P.S. *blinks**pokes Ink* You okay up there? I didn't break you or anything, did I? *pokes some more*

So the possibility of Hailstorm working on his own is high? This is good. So you don't mind my borrowing him? This is good. Letting characters do what they want? This too is good. *clings to How Stuff Works like a limpet* How did I not know this site existed?! This is wonderful. I haven't tried looking for not earth acid rain, but I can imagine your aggravation. If you need any help creating planets, I can at least help you with the geology. Majored in it a little while and have had a near lifelong interest in how a planet works.
Hmm, so an advanced olfactory system? *ponders* A scientist might work well. Wheeljack? Or maybe someone he had/is working with, those vocal indicators would certainly help anyone who was deaf.

I think I figured out a reason for Drumlin to travel off his moon/planet and since he's neutral with resources it attracts attention. Hence the need to assign someone able to handle very cold weather. (before, it was going to be only chance and letting Hailstorm have some free time to explore the freezing world)

Isn't that an awesome dictionary? /rehtoric It's a bit of a chore as I need to build the habit, but I'm trying. *sigh* See, THIS is why I prefer a lot of native people's worldview of living with the earth instead of trying to dominate it. Too many people with too little regard for the only planet we have are going to be the end of the world as we know it. Hell, the Earth is already radically different than what it was only a century ago. Unless you're in a position of power there's not much you can do but watch helplessly as humans continue to rape the planet. Annnd this is why I didn't want to think about it, I get frustrated and angry and all sorts of negative emotions with peoples blindness and arrogance, and and... *throws hands up* grrrrr.

PS. *twitches* M'fine. Just a little overwhelmed, I've never had proof of someone saving my work like this before.

At the moment, I'm mostly trying to figure out how acid rain works on Cybertron and a few other planets. I can use Earth as a good starting point for Cybertron because of all the industrial similarities but that's where it ends. I'm of the firm belief that Cybertron wouldn't be able to support human life without the human wearing some sort of environmental/haz mat suit. As much as I loved that one Animated episode, you can probably guess how much it irritated the ever loving slag out of me when Fanzone was able to walk around Cybertron without a hitch.

Wheeljack, eh? That makes a great deal of sense, in a way. I'm thinking that one of his assistants has poorly developed audio sensors and that's why he got those odd little glowing head fins that flicker when he talk's. As for the assistant, well I'm either going to have to make an OC out of him or find some obscure science minded mech in the TF Wiki archives that I can use for this purpose. Then there's the fact that snakes can hear, it's just that they can't hear the high ranges that humans can let alone what Cybertronians make in normal conversation. I have a pet theory that depending on what model you're talking to, you'll encounter certain ranges depending on each group. Like tanks, transport haulers and heavy armor models would be much like an elephant and emit sounds that are on the low end of the scale. While jets, planes and some of the more high performance models would emit higher pitched sounds. It all ties in with the fact that I think their native language is very, very mechanical sounding and that they would use the various parts of their alt mode in conversation.
So you have the low rumble of tanks and the high pitched scream of jet engines. The rattling of treads and clacking of talons and wing plates rubbing against each other.

Besides advanced olfactory sensors, there's another idea from the game Oblivion that I'd like to try out. In the game you can choose your birth sign and each one gives you unique attributes. There's one called The Lover, it lets your character paralyze a person with a kiss. Why am I thinking Sunstorm?

If Drumlin has access to resources then that's a good thing. Hailstorm is a resource scout, and not just for fuel/energon either, but for anything the Decepticons would need. And if Drumlin is on a remote planet/moon with a good deal of resources that wouldn't garner a great amount of Autobot attention, then the chances of Hailstorm exploring the area is even greater.

I know what you mean about the helpless rage inducing that is thinking about the environment. Especially since there's very little we can do since we're not in a position of power. So here, have some pretty pictures someone sent me.

Acid rain can be a natural occurrence thanks to volcanic activity. It's one of the theories behind the great Permian extinction, blamed on the Siberian Traps, possibly the largest eruption to have ever occurred in the entire history of the Earth. While not a different planet, it is the result of geologic activity as opposed to anything we've done. You might want to look at Venus while you're at it too if you haven't already, the lack of oceans might be the explanation you need. Oh I know your pain, anytime that happens my willing suspension of disbelief develops a great big crack.

Really, I can't possibly be the only one who's wondered if you can tell what he's saying just through those visual indicators. It would be completely in character for him to make and implement his vocal indicators even if the assistant wasn't one he was constantly around. Yay! *two handed fist pump* You know that snakes can hear! Your pet theory is burrowing itself into my brain and joining my pet theory on various mental and personality set ups various models have. Which is a sibling pet theory to all the cybertronian body language that can exist and encompasses more than just doorwing-speak. (ex. a brief armor rattle to indicate embarrassment.) I fear the offspring they may create.

So certain series of mech and femme models will be made with certain attributes? How do plan on doing this? *is curious* Because this all sounds very doable and very interesting. Because Sunstorm is kickass?

That is a very, very good thing to know. Oooh now I'm itching to write. *opens writer* Once this first full draft is done, I'll pass it by you to make sure I have your character right. Anything else I should know?

Now I'm seeing Sunstorm flying around the atmosphere creating a breathtaking borealis. Thanks a lot. I really didn't need the image of a shiny, shiny seeker making lovely art of the sky by turning into his own personal canvas.

Recently watched a show about the Siberian Traps. They showed a flat map of the globe and poured ash on the area that was only the eruption. At which point my brain hid itself in a corner in terror. People have no idea how extremely lucky we've been in the natural disasters department for the past few centuries. Sure there's been some major ones, but nothing like the stuff that's happened in the past. One of the only things that disturbed me more was the one theory about the formation of the moon that results in us living on Earth Mark 2. And for whatever reason, my mind has been skipping over volcanoes as the reason for acid rain. Probably because I've been captivated about the ones on Neptune's moon Triton erupting with nitrogen. I almost typed that as energon. What a geek I am.

I love the idea of the Cybertronians having this complex and subtle language. Not to mention the various forms it would exist in. Different ones for alt modes and regions not to mention any that are created for certain groups like the military or just between two people for fun. For example; Optimus lazily spinning his wheels in mech mode while contemplating something. Or rattling tank treads together to indicate laughter while if you shift them forward in a certain way it would be taken as a sign of aggressiveness. There's also the myriad of lights that are typically found on any given alt mode that could come into play, too. And what is this pet theory you are talking about?

It would be so like Wheeljack to make those vocal indicators simply for the fact someone he occasionally works with has a difficult time understanding him. Right now he's in my head, being all geeky and gleeful at the fact that they worked and the other mech can finally understand him clearly. There's also the fact that they also change colors, at least if I remember correctly they do. I may be mixing canon with fanon here, however. Then it simply becomes so much a part of him that he never removes them, that and he's of the forgetful sort, which is why I think he never really removes his mask (which to me is along the lines of a welders mask). *perplexed look* I've been looking up information and watching documentaries about snakes for my naga characters. The reason I remember the fact so well is that snakes can't hear the music played by snake charmers since it's far too high pitched for them. Kind of like dog whistles for us. Then there's the fact that snakes really pay attention to vibrations more than sound, which the assistant character will be like, too.

I...really have no idea, this is about as far as I got with the whole thing. Sort of hit a wall. It's just been some vague little idea sitting in the back of my head for a while. Here's a list of all the other birthsigns, if you want to take a look. I'm fond of the Serpent symbol, being able to poison others with a touch. It's kind of inspiring yet another OC of mine. This time a Seeker who is not only trineless, but greatly prefers the company of tanks and heavy armored mechs over that of other Seekers and Flyers. Has this sort of hidden poisoned weapon/system thing going on that looks a lot like Baraka.

I don't think there's anything else you need to know about Hailstorm right now. Other than the fact that he's being a whiny glitch 'cause his brothers are very unhappy with him at the moment. He did something that resulted in them having to go on patrol under the guidance of the Coneheads, who are making the whole experience rather unpleasant. Am very, very eager to see what you have in store for him.

If you liked How Stuff Works, then you should really like this. One of the sites led me to a short vid about great horned owls, which made me think of the little fuzz balls you photographed.

Yes, yes you did need that image stuck in your head. 'Cause it's such a very pretty image, and quite realistic too, considering all the radiation he gives off. Will there be art for it?

This is why I find the alarm people have about Yellowstone absolutely hilarious. When they have little to no grasp on what the geologic time scale really amounts to, it's massive, and they think that just because we're a thousand some years late it's reason to panic. It really isn't, not when it comes to this kind of thing. Triton is a good excuse, it's volcanoes are very distracting. Yeeee... geek.

The pet theory on mental set ups is that not only do various makes and models have different nuances to their body language, but that they think differently as well. It ties in with which senses are dominate for different kinds as well. Obvious example, Reflector relies more on sight than anything else, how he sees the world is how he perceives it. Kind of how dogs and many insects identify things through smell, whales and bats through sound (sonar/echolocation), and cephalopods and most birds through vision. Not to mention touch, electro perception, chemical analysis, and many others. With robots there's also a whole slew of other senses available including radar. Humans are a bit of a combo package, with a leaning towards sight/touch/sound, and there's a small percentage of people who actually fall into one category instead of having a lack of a truly dominate one.

There's some serious play with this sensor diversity using the Sauricons; Torpedo is rather reliant on sonar and vision, Minefield more tactile, Wardrum is auditory, Sawblade is olfactory and somewhat infrared, and Batteringram confuses me a bit as I haven't really found the proper discription for him yet, he's a bit of a combo but he's also good at code. This is why I'm liking your Wheeljack and auditory challenged assistant story idea so much. I'm a sucker for alternate perceptions of the world and people who attempt to cross that barrier. Which is one reason why I've made and will continue to make attempts at learning sign language.

The thinking part is tied in with this, with some bots having a greater or easier time perceiving the world in a certain way. It helps explain why fliers tend to be known for their disdain of ground pounders, wouldn't you be of those who had to be taught the three dimensional spacial perception that comes so naturally to you? I haven't had the chance yet to really whittle down which specific frame type leans towards what type of thinking. It's all very, very general at this point. Mostly because the groundlings are giving me trouble. Though I did post my idea of space fairing mechs through Skyfire on the bunny farm as #5 here. With all the life on earth in all its' forms, I have a hard time swallowing the idea that transformers are all like us in this regard. Not even humans who are closely related can think the same, as my family can attest to.

*is looking forward to this fic* I'll just leave it at that you're one of the few I don't have to explain to that snakes aren't deaf.

Would that make Mirage someone with Shadow as his sign, and Blurr the Steed? Awww, trineless poison/venom seeker. >_> Annnd there goes my "I want to pet the potentially lethal critter" urge again. It's one that has unfortunately has had it's way before.

He'll be happier with what I'm tossing his way, he's going to have a nice freezing planet/moon to play around on. Well, as long as he doesn't disturb the locals that is. Bothering them isn't a very good idea. He may be a Decepticon, but he's only one bot.

*clicks the link curiously* ........ *isn't seen for months* But really, just glimpsing that front page had me back buttoning fast, I do not have the time to get lost there just yet. Because I know that if I gave it half a chance, I would have.

Gah, I have so much on my plate already that the TABLE is threatening to break. Give me a couple of weeks then poke me again.
