things, things and more things.
I almost can't believe how fast this quarter has gone. Technically finals are two weeks away (the 8th through 11th) but all of my classes have their finals next week. Its nice because I get to go home early and have that extra week off, but its kind of stressful because it snuck up on me. I don't have any 'formal' exams though..well, one. My ASL final will be a two part, two day exam. One day will be her signing and us writing down what she is saying and the other day will be a dialogue that we have to do in front of a camera. My public speaking class has our speech as the final on Monday..a persuasive 8-10 minute speech on a policy..so we are persuading them why they should or should not do something, vote for/against something etc. I am kind of cheating by using something I did for another class last year..but oh well. She won't know and it helps me out quite a bit. I still have to completely re-work it, but I have a more solid starting point.
For the first time since I started college, I love my job. I work in the photo lab at school..so I get to just sit around and hand out darkroom equipment and give opinions. I don't love it because its easy (well..maybe a little bit) but I just love being around the darkroom and all the art stuff. I don't have my film camera up here but i'm going to bring it back while i'm home for Christmas. I can develop photos while I am working. Awesome.
Otherwise..I was aiming for a 4.0 this quarter but those dreams were squashed by going 2 and 3 seconds over in two of my speeches in my speech class. If you go over the time limit at all..doesn't matter if its a second or a minute, she takes off 10 percent of the grade immediately. It has happened twice..so for each speech, I started at a B rather than an A. My teacher is also really..passive aggressive. I'll be happy to finish it all on Monday.
In more happy news, my parents are moving back to Pensacola in may/june!! You know, I never realized how much I missed that place. I don't ever want to live there full time again, but i'd like to be able to visit and have a place to stay. It was really hard making time for my mom and my friends on breaks too because i'd go between Atlanta and Pensacola..but soon that will all be over.
Alright..enough ramblings. I'm at Panera, people watching and getting homework done..but I should probably work more on the 'homework' part.
