No way in hell I'm going to do this in my journal but I still looked it up for fun and to prove once and for all that January 18 is a better birthday than your smelly day ever will be. 1.1788 - The first 736 convicts banished from England to Australia landed in Botany Bay creating the first Australian Penal Colony 2.1884 - Dr William Price attempts to cremate the body of his infant son, Jesus Christ Price, setting a legal precedent for cremation in the UK. 3.1912 - British explorer Robert Falcon Scott arrives at the South Pole only to find that Roald Amundsen, the Norwegian explorer, had preceded them by just over a month. 4.1964 - The Beatles appear on the Billboard magazine charts for the first time. 5.1967 - Albert DeSalvo, the "Boston Strangler," is convicted of numerous crimes and is sentenced to life in prison.

Okay, so the deaths were crap...
But my no. 1 favourite fact of January 18 from Wikipedia, under the sub heading "Holidays and Observances" I learnt that it is 'Sex and Pornography Day' in Chile. I rest my case.

Did it ask for days? Noooooo. therefore my bday still pwns yours. bedsides, come on, taxing of beards-start of terror-end of Aus death penalty-and the American civil war are so much cool than some lame convicts. pffft.
PS. I will admit i wish my bday was sex and pornography day, though probably not for the same reasons :P
