So, I need to try to understand something. If the majority of women in this country wear a size 14 and over, why is it exactly that clothing companies don't cater to us?
Because if they admitted we were a normal majority, then the diet and exercise industry would have to give up the billions it makes each year convincing us we're dirty, disgusting pigs with no willpower who *need* their help to get back to being thin enough to walk the streets without shame again. And since clothing companies can make a premium charging two or three bucks extra to tag that (W) on a 'plus-size' pair of jeans (reason 3 I stopped buying Eddie Bauer: they started charging two to four bucks more for their larger sizes and tall lengths, when the added material cost had to be less than fifty cents a pair), there's really no incentive for them to buck that trend.
