A/N: Holy shit guys, has it really been a month? I'm so sorry! As some of you know, I have two retail jobs and if you'd seen my schedule, you'd understand. Anyways, without further ado, I present to you another chapter!

“Thanks so much Tom!” Matthew gushed as he admired his gift from my roommate. It had been a bit of a surprise to have him join us for the birthday meal but Matthew had seemed genuinely happy with it. The pair of them has become fast friends once Matthew became more comfortable around him, their sense of humor surprisingly similar.

Matthew showed me the gift he'd gotten and I smiled. It was perfect, quite obviously Tom's idea considering it was a photo book. There seemed to be plenty of candid photos from the various times that Tom had been wandering around in the background while we were playing music together, there was even a few from that early morning photo shoot, Matthew leaning sleepily against me in one photo while I held a large reflector.

“There's a lot of nice pictures in here Tom. You outdid yourself!” I commented and Matthew nodded in agreement.

“It's not done yet!” Kelly said and held out her hand to Matthew who gave her a confused look. “Where's those pictures from today?” She asked him and Matthew pulled them out, handing them over to her. Kelly got up from the table where were were all still seated after our dinner, conversing.

“Just a moment, I'll be right back with these.” She said before she headed off to do whatever it was that would make Tom's present perfect.

“Anyway..” Chris cleared his throat as he pulled out a package from under his seat at the table, placing it in front of Matthew. Matthew eyed it before looking over to Chris.

“You're a bastard you know that right?” Matthew told him, and Chris had to laugh.

“I know, couldn't resist mate. Don't worry, Kells will be right back I'm sure and then you can open your present. Until then I suppose you can just stare at it?” He told Matthew and I had to stifle my own laugh. I knew that Matthew wasn't one for waiting around when he was given a gift. I felt his hand at my knee and he rubbed his fingers over the fabric of my trousers, trying to distract himself. I reached under the table and wrapped my hand over his and he looked to me with a blush.

“Hey you two, hand check!” Tom called out and I laughed, the both of us raising our hands up to show them.

“I promise we weren't doing anything!” I said to Tom who only shook his head and waggled a finger at us.

“Sure. I know you too well Howard. Always up to no good.”

“Aww, that's not true Tom. Dominic was actually very good today. The perfect boyfriend.” Matthew said with a slight blush coloring his cheeks. He reached up and fingers his necklace, a habit I could already see forming for him. “He got me this after all.”

He flipped it so that Tom could read the inscription , leaning over the table to him as Tom leaned closer, examining it. I watched Tom's face as he read it before an approving look was sent in my direction.

“Very nice.” He gave Matthew a smile. “I stand corrected on him always being up to no good. He's usually up to no good.” Tom chuckled.

“Alright! Here we are Matty.” Kelly bustled back into the room, handing the pictures back to Matthew, picking up the photo book. She started picking at the cover that had a little window where a photo could be placed but Tom had left the original picture in it of a flower. She finished her work, showing it off to Chris before she presented it back to Matthew.

“Oh Kelly.. this makes it even more perfect.” Matthew breathed, tilting the cover so I could see that it was the picture of the two of us kissing, Nathan watching the both of us, smiling. It was the perfect picture, I had to admit and it made the gift really stand out.

“I might have also run a copy of it off for myself while I was at it.” Kelly said as she sat back down at the table next to Chris. “I’ll have to pick up a frame for it later but really, the two of you couldn't be any cuter.”

It was my turn to blush along with Matthew at that sentiment. I wasn't used to quite this much attention being lavished upon me because of a relationship. Not that I'd had them for very long. My past relationships never really got much deeper than a puddle aside from a few instances. I was determined to remedy that of course with Matthew.

“Well then, Matt, did you want to open your present now?” Chris asked and it was a good way to bring the conversation back around to something less likely to embarrass myself and Matthew, which I was grateful for. I made a note to myself to thank Chris later for that.

Matthew had wasted no time at all in tearing into his gift at the mention of it again and since there was no threat that Kelly would hurt him if he didn't wait for her to open said gift, he tore into it quite quickly. There was a gasp from him as he finally revealed his present and I leaned over to look at what had caught such an unrepressed look of glee on his face.

“A rock?” I queried, unsure what was so special about the rock that Matthew was pulling from it's plastic casing, turning it over in his hands.

“It's a meteorite!” Matthew explained, handing it over for me to examine. I took it gingerly, suddenly realizing why Matthew had lit up the way he had. It was quite incredible to hold something that had not come from the Earth, this was entirely foreign. It had traveled millions of miles through space before crashing down to our little planet.

'Wow.” I breathed as Matthew pulled the card out that identified the piece.

“It's a Sikhote-Alin piece!”

“A what?” Tom voiced my question before I could while I handed him the piece to look at. He puzzled over it before handing it back to Matthew.

“The Sikhote-Alin meteorite fell in Russia back in 1947 and was perhaps the most widely witnessed one. There was also such a large field of debris that people were still hunting for pieces years later. Of course they've all been snatched up at this point but you can still find pieces for sale. Oh Chris, this is great! Thank you so much Kells!” Matthew exclaimed, jumping up from his seat to give the pair of them a hug.

It was perfect for Matthew considering what I had planned. I gave Chris a thumbs up just before Nathan came crashing back into the dining room, Lily running after him, the former crashing into his father as the latter made a leap for me. I caught Lily with a laugh as I listened to Nathan beg his father to come look at the fish tank that he had just finished setting up with Gareth's help who had ambled into the room at a more sedate pace.

The after dinner chat it seemed was now abandoned as we all made the march to the room that Nathan shared with his older brother. Tom gave me a smile as I picked up Lily and settled her on my hip and he leaned over to comment.

“You look like a regular family man now you know? All this domestic stuff.” Tom laughed. I gave him an appraising look, one eyebrow raised.

“You should talk Tom. Don't think I don't know about your girlfriend.” Tom's expression was priceless and I couldn't help the laughter the babbled up.

“How did you know about that?”

“I didn't for sure but now that just confirms it!” I laughed and Tom made a face.

“Aww fu-” Tom started, then caught himself in time. “-dgesickles.”

“Good save there mate. Kells would scalp you for sure.” Tom only shook his head as he glanced to Kelly then turned to Lily.

“You wouldn't rat you your Uncle would you Lily?” He asked and she smiled, shaking her head no. “See? We have an understanding.”

“I'd never tell on Uncle Matt or you Uncle Dom. But Mum told me to let her know about anything that Tom did or said.” Lily attempted to whisper to me but of course it was loud enough for Tom to hear as well and it set me to laughing again.

“Betrayer!” Tom exclaimed. “Seriously though, how did you know?” He switched the subject back to his supposedly secret girlfriend.

“Well unless you started wearing thongs, it was a safe bet, considering a few seemed to find their way into the laundry for the past few weeks.” Tom winced and I shifted Lily to give him a reassuring pat on his shoulder. “Aww, don't worry about it Tom. I won't hold it against you. It's good to see you happy though right?”

Tom smiled and tilted his head to the side. “Yeah. I'll have to bring her around sometime when you are home and not shacked up over at Matt's place. It's a wonder you haven't moved in together yet.”

I must have made a strange face at that comment because Tom gave me a questioning look, promoting me to elaborate on my feelings. “I don't know Tom. I mean, I like the pace we are moving at and all but I think it's also a bit too soon for that. We've gone so fast with so much but I think that's just pushing it too far.”

Tom nodded and gave a shrug. “You have a point. I was just remarking that you spend an awful lot of time over there.”

I was spared from continuing the uncomfortable conversion as we reached Nathan's room, finding Matthew looking over the fish tank, admiration plastered across Nathan's face as he showed off the hard work that he and Gareth had done with setting it up.

“Now that's a proper fish!” Matthew commented happily and Tom wasn't able to contain his laughter at my boyfriend's occasional inability to pronounce his R's. I found it endearing but that didn't keep me from chuckling a bit at it as well.

“Hey, you guys are gonna be late if you don't head out soon.” Chris reminded me and I checked my watch. He was right.

“Shi--- thanks mate.” I nearly cursed but curbed it in time with a glance to Kelly and then moved to Matthew's side, giving Nathan's fish tank a tap.

“Very nice. Make sure you pick out a good name for him. Right now though I'm sorry but I'm going to have to steal your father away for one last present.” Dominic gave Nathan a smile as he ruffled his hair. The boy smiled.

“Right! Have fun!” Nathan chirped. Matthew made a curious face.

“Are you going to tell me where we are going finally?” He asked and I grinned as I pulled out a scarf that I'd tucked in my pocket before.

“Nope. In fact..” I held up the black silk scarf and Matthew's eyebrows shot to his hairline before he blushed and looked around apprehensively. I had to smile at his expression which was altogether far too cute. It seemed I'd just unearthed another secret kink inadvertently.

“That big of a secret?” Matthew asked and I nodded.

“I don't want to give it away. Come on, I'll drive and you just relax birthday boy.” We left the house with a few goodbyes to Chris, Kelly, Tom and the kids with thanks to Kelly for a fantastic meal. Matthew settled into the passenger seat of his car, looking a bit nervous about it.

“You trust me Matthew?” I asked him once he was buckled in and I was leaning over him, about to tie the scarf in place. There was a slight nod.

“I trust you.” Matthew gave a smile and he let his eyes slip closed, leading his head towards me to make it easier for me to tie the makeshift blindfold in place. I had to admit that I liked the utter trust that Matthew was placing in my hands and I could see a slight flush to his cheeks that made me want to see more of this trust in the bedroom rather than the car.

With another check to make sure Matthew was alright I started the car and headed out into the early evening traffic that had thankfully lightened up from before. It wouldn't take us too long to get to our destination but I wanted to be sure I arrived in time. I knew that everything in this part of California always took twice as long to get there as it was supposed to. Typically I had no issues with it but tonight I had someplace special to be at.

I turned on some music for the both of us to listen to, whatever Matthew had been listening to last in the car which was samples and various edits from our recordings. Beautiful piano mixed with drums and guitars rang out between us and I lit up in a smile. I always enjoyed playing together and laying down life tracks though Matthew had insisted a few times of recording separately before mixing the layers back together. It created such an amazing quality that left me breathless on a few occasions.

“Are we there yet?” Matthew asked after some time and I laughed.

“Nearly. Tell me you aren't going to start that up are you?” I asked him and glanced over at Matthew who made a face like a petulant child before he repeated it again in an annoying whine, then burst out laughing.

“Wanker.” I groused at him playfully. “Seriously, almost there though.” I said this as I turned the car into the parking lot and found us a place to park in the slowly filling lot. We had made it there with a bit of time to spare. I cut the engine and leaned over to Matthew.

“Ready for your surprise?” Matthew nodded at my question and I reached up to slip the blindfold from his eyes as he blinked, trying to focus on his surroundings.

“Oh! Oh my! Dom!” Matthew gasped in wonder and happiness, reverting to a name he usually reserved only for the bedroom. I watched Matthew's face light up as he looked at the dome of the planetarium before looking back to me.

“The game before.. and the gift from Chris and Kelly?” He asked and I shook my head.

“Pure chance on that actually. But it seems to have worked out in a perfect way now right?” I explained and I had to admit that I couldn't have planned it better myself, all the coincidences lining up just right for a space themed birthday for Matthew.

“It's just perfect! You are an an absolutely wonderful, amazing, incredible man!” Matthew exclaimed as he jumped in his seat, diving for me but being caught by the seat belt. He fumbled at it for a second before I found myself with a lapful of an excited brunette. He leaned in to place a few overeager kisses over my face before I caught his face between my hands and I gave him a proper kiss.

“Come on love, we should get inside soon. I promise that we can pick this up later at your place.” I told him and Matthew leaned back with a smirk.

“Birthday sex when we get home? I'm all for that.”

There it was again. Home. Inadvertently Matthew had touched upon the same topic that Tom had brought up before. I certainly would be so much easier for the both of us, considering that half my wardrobe seemed to have made it way over to Matthew's and a good portion of his was at mine. And yet I still felt reluctant to take the plunge into our relationship.

I shook myself out of my musings before Matthew could think anything was wrong, plastering a smile across my face. “Sounds fantastic. Come on then, lets go watch the show before we miss it.”
