-is this some kind of a joke? I sure hope the laugh you got out of it was worth the effort.

Lieutenant Uhura to Enterprise, come in, Enterprise.

Seriously? What is up with this? Not that it's not kind of cool

I'm sure you've been told this but your Captain, Pasha, Spock, McCoy, and Scotty are all here. Maybe more, I've lost count.

I wish I knew.

Pasha- you mean Ensign Chekov. He's been getting around, huh?

Obviously the people from your world just had a mass amount of bad luck thrown on them.

Yes, sorry that's who I meant. He's a really nice guy, also a lot more expressive then my Russian friend.

Wouldn't be the first occasion.

Oh, I'm not disputing that. You're Kitty, then?

You can join the club then. Not that it's a great club to be in. We have buttons though.

That's a little creepy, but yes I'm Kitty.

Stylish buttons, I hope.

Relax, Pasha told me.

They're amazingly stylish.

I figured it was one of them, I just wasn't sure which one. It was either that or thinking you were a telepath or precog. But I thought the first option was more likely.

That's a relief.

No, not a telepath or a precog- just a xenolinguist.

Now the hats on the other hand...that's another story.

That's neat. I had a friend who had the ability to know every language. He was a really...great guy. I only speak one alien language myself, but quite a few Earth languages. How many do you know if you don't mind saying?

Good thing I'm not a hat person.

I'm sorry...Maybe, a little later, you could tell me about him.

As for myself- I know roughly 83% of the official Federation languages and dialects, and I'm always eager to learn more. I'd be interested to hear the alien language you know spoken aloud.

They're mandatory on every second Tuesday of the third month.

Don't be sorry.

That sounds like a lot of languages. The Federation would be Earth languages or more then just Earth?

Well, I'll have time to prepare, in any case.

'Federation' is short for the United Federation of Planets, actually- and Earth makes up part of it.

That's cool! My world just has Earth and even then we're all under different governments.

Space exploration definitely opened up a lot of new doors.

We have some degree's of space exploration but the technology we have isn't even close to being advanced enough to go to inhabited planets. Most humans don't even really realize there are a ton of other inhabited planets.

Where are you originally from?
