The Of Montreal show turned out to be a not so bad idea after all. Despite how much money I may have spent this weekend, how sick I may have gotten from a little too much drinky drink, and individuals being arrested, I had a lot of fun. It was well worth it all. But, I think I'm gonna go to just one more show before I go to Germany for the summer. I'm just gonna see Pink Mountaintops. I really would like to see Duke Spirit, but I don't wanna drive down to Little Rock, pay for gas, see only a half show of Duke Spirit since they're the opening band, and then watch Ted Leo/Pharmacists- whom I don't really want to see. Just not so much of a fan of them anymore and I really don't care to see them live. Then Dinosaur Jr. is just gonna cost too much moolah to be worth it. Besides, my first month in Germany, I get to see Gang Gang Dance (their only show in all of Germany!), No-Neck Blues Band, and even Xiu Xiu. I'm not a big Xiu Xiu fan, but they're worth seeing since they'll be playing walking distance from our house.
While in Springfield I bought "Beatles for Sale" and Wire's "Chairs Missing." I think "Pink Flag" is better, but "Chairs Missing" has its ups and downs in the album. It's worth having. I also bought the "Sunlandic Twins" LP after the show along with the cd from the guy who opened for Of Montreal. I can't remember his name right now. But he kicked ass live. It was just him and his banjo. I think it's Curtis Eller. Good opener. Songs about Buster Keaton and shit. I dunno if I'll keep his cd since it's just alright. But "Sunlandic Twins" is pretty cool. It's not as good as live, but I like everything better live to be honest.
I'll shut up now- here's the pics:
Here's the guy everyone said looked like me. Everybody actually kept mistaking him for me. At least we have the same haircut. It's my Columblandic Twin- get it?
