My flist is full of win today

Jan 04, 2008 14:23

First example: from insidian - Obama wins Iowa!

Second example: from cleverduck - Kung-Fu Election. The gameplay is a little ugh, and the intro is way too long (worth watcing, but too long), but it's surprisingly astute.

Third example: from chaptal - ( name meme )

alcohol, silly meme, chicago

I saw a photo of haggis on my friends page recently. No way in hell I'd try it. DOUBLE no way in hell I'd try haggis wings. *tightly closes mouth*

It seems that you and I always respond to different parts of the same entries here :)>

That's because we have excellent taste in mutual friends (and because I'm Bruce's biggest comment junkie).

I saw that picture, but my strongest memory is from So I Married an Axe Murderer:

Harriet: Can I ask you a question? Do you actually eat haggis?

Charlie: No. In fact, I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.

I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.

That could very well be; finding out what stovies are really nudges me toward believing that's so. (All that business about meat drippings being in stovies reminded me of when Mr. L drank the turkey Jones Holiday Soda in a voice post. I KNOW a shitload of people only drink Jones Holiday Soda on a dare!!!!!! Mah Randa logic makes so much sense! La la la la!)

Stovies is (are?) tasty! It's a little like corned beef hash or potatoes o'brien. Kind of a middle ground between the two, actually.

Never had 'em. (And now I'm fixating on the meat drippings/turkey Jones Holiday Soda factor.)

I prefer my meals cooked in sterile utensils, not animal tummies. Thank you.

Yeah. I cook sausage in a clean pot, not an animal tummy.

what do you think is in that meat, not to mention the casing?

randazanda January 5 2008, 01:22:20 UTC
It's pig parts, like ham and bacon and pork chops.

chaptal January 5 2008, 01:30:30 UTC
but which parts?

it is said there are two things in this world a person should not see made; one is law, the other sausage.

I don't know which parts. The same parts they make bacon and ham and pork chops from, and which I cook in nice clean sterile cookware... not an animal tummy.

Umm... I'm really not sure I want to spoil this one.
