Restrictions on Interactions with the Russian Academy of Sciences
The U.S. Treasury Department has placed twenty-five institutes within the Russian Academy of Sciences on its Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List, including several that were added last month. The SDN list publicly identifies persons or entities that the U.S. government determined to be involved in activities that threaten or undermine U.S. foreign policy or national security objectives.
U.S. entities like <местный университет> and its faculty, researchers, students, and staff are prohibited from engaging in any transactions with SDNs, which includes participation in conferences, meetings, collaborative discussions, and generally providing any services to the entity or individual.
