Background:
Wiki background link. Personality:
The first thing that comes to mind about Will, is that he is one determined and stubborn guy; and in his field, in the start of the series, he seems to be ‘one against the world’. He is a behavioral psychologist, working for the FBI.
He possesses natural empathic abilities and always thinks there are and, senses deeper reasons behind crimes, looking beyond the surface barrier that his superiors accept. I think that’s one of his main attributes. He sees the possibility for something more, and he will pursue it, despite what is accepted as the norm, or what is mandated by his superiors. Actually, I think a main fact is that he is actually very likely to go against what his superiors want if that’s what it takes for Will to prove his point, or, later on when he’s in the Sanctuary, to save someone. And of course, he has this natural want to know the truth, the reasoning behind it all, the explanation, probably stemming from what he saw as a child.
I think to sum up that point, it would be like this: Will is head-strong and stubborn and determined, with just a bit of self-righteousness mixed in there. To the point when he’s willing to die to save others; to fully accept that possibility, and to go for it anyway. There’s also been times when Magnus had advised him to not go do something, and he’d do so anyway, simply because that’s what he thought would yield the best results.
At times though, he can also seem a been brash and even crude. He isn’t the quickest to forgive, especially if it’s about crucial information that been kept from him. But he also is quick on his feet when the situation presents the need to be. In his line of work with the Sanctuary, that’s exactly what is usually needed; he does the job well, and so far, seems like he’s living up to the title of protégé of Helen Magnus.
He’s taken from a time of a major crisis between Abnormals and humans, and due to Magnus’s absense, was appointed Head of the Sanctuary Network. Although an initial shock, he’s good at facing the situation. In that sense, he’s strong. He can also fight dirty, if the need arises.
If Will is one thing, it’s passionate. Once he commits, he commits. He has this slightly snarky, clever and smirky personality, with a ‘spit-at-authority’ streak somewhere in there at the right (and sometimes not so right) times.
At the same time, he’s supportive when need be. Stern also. When Magnus begins to shut herself off again, he’ll tell her. He’s also there to ring her back to reality once she seems to be straying too far. She’s his mentor, but sometimes, it seems like he can serve as an anchor to her.
He also has moments of either self reflection, and even brooding. His childhood is not fun, and his family is a sore and very sensitive subject. Ergo, he doesn’t talk about it much. In fact, it’s seldom that he would actually open up about himself. He’s good at reading others. Seeing behaviors, reactions. And ultimately, ignoring his own.
Powers, Skills, and Abilities: Lol he’s just a human in a world of Abnormals. To elaborate though, he really has no special skills or talents per se. He’s physically fit and in good shape. With being in the Sanctuary, he’s learned more about firearms and weaponry, and seems to be good at self-defense. He’s also a forensic psychiatrist, which means he’s good at reading people. Good at seeing if they’re hiding something, good at understanding behavior and finding reason for it.

First Person:
[ The feed flickers on to show a young man with fair, disheveled hair staring at the screen. He looks nothing short of completely frustrated, annoyed and confused. All at once.
He pushes out a sigh. ] Damnit, where the hell am I?
Henry? Big Guy? Why the heck am I at some… [ A pause, to throw a rushed gaze around. ] Some hospital. This isn’t even the Sanctuary…
[ He drifts off, sliding from the bed. A few mutters. Probably swears that shouldn’t be heard. He slides the device into the pocket of his jeans as the feed times out. ]
Third Person:
He was pacing. This entire situation was unnerving. Stupid. No. Beyond idiotic.
He could hardly believe it. He could hardly believe that he was named Head of Sanctuary. At a time like this. Hell, he expected Declan to be named this over him. And where the hell was Magnus during all of this?
He would be lying if he said he wasn’t nervous. If he said he wasn’t slowly starting to feel the knot in his stomach tighten, and his heartbeat ring in his ears. But no. He had to do this.
Because if not him, who else? Will made his way back to the office, Henry hot on his heels. He was speaking.
Wait. He was speaking. Will turns to look at the other gy, who was already reaching for his coat.
“Hold on, you’re going to go in there now?”
“Well, yeah. I’m kind of…better suited.,” the other gives a lopsided smirk, however slight. Will can tell he’s nervous. Hell, he didn’t want to admit that the knot was tightening even more in his stomach, that it was getting worse, that he didn’t want to see his colleague, his friend, go into that danger zone.
“…Are you saying you’re better than me?” Will sounded mildly outraged, although partially, that was sarcasm. He watches Henry shrug.
“Ehkinda…I’m faster, stronger…”
“Yeah and I can legally fire you now,” Will smirks in return. Although as he saw Henry off, it sent a wave of uncertainty through him. He better make it back.
No. He can’t afford to think like that. Biggie. Kate. Henry. They’ll be fine. Right now, he had to stop the idiots from the government and military from starting World War 3 or something.
God. Sometimes it felt like it was always him. A huff, pulling out a phone, knowing exactly who to call, a plan already forming in his mind.
