update+funny picture
Things are going well with Asha. Still haven't confirmed her gender 100% either way, but I got into the habit of calling her 'her' so that will probably stick until I'm able to confirm it... not like she cares lol. She STILL hasn't eaten and it's day 23 and I'm a little worried, but I think she's about to shed so that is probably the issue. I tried feeding a live pinky a couple of days ago and she didn't even care about it and I know she should be hungry. Going to wait til after she sheds then try again. (speaking of which I need make the humid hide and put it in there for her...)
I found out the hard way that she DOES NOT like her feeding box and got a nip as a result, so I'm going to try with a deli cup or something similar next. I'm not sure what she doesn't like but she spends her tim trying to get out of it rather then focusing on food. Which isn't great because I was hoping on keeping her in something similar (with substrate, heating, water etc) if/when I took her home for longer breaks then a couple of days. Maybe its just theres no substrate in there. I dunno D:
But all in all she's been an awesome little snake. Other then the one nip when she was stressed out because of the feeding box, she's been very sweet and mild mannered when I've held her or showed her to people. I had her out the other day and set her on my bed while I did something on my phone... she slithered over and tried to jam her way back into my palm. I know it was more heat related, but it was still really darn cute. She also likes to try to climb up on top of my laptop when I have it on the bed and she's there. I've noticed that when I put her back in her cage she tries to burrow but will sit with her head in the aspen for a few minutes before going completely down.
