Hi everyone. I currently don't have any reptiles or amphibians, but have always been an avid enthusiast of both. Let me put it this way: I'm the person you sometimes see running into traffic to grab a turtle and move it to safety.

But that's not why I'm posting. About two days ago we spotted a juvenile anole running around in our den, and I desperately tried to catch it... but it got away, and managed to get away a few more times. BUT TODAY, after three days of trying to catch this little dude so I could release her, I FINALLY managed to catch her when she made the damning mistake of climbing onto my coffee table where I had the advantage.

Anyway, I caught her (while it's a juvenile, I don't see any signs of a reddish dewlap that I remember seeing when I was a kid, so I'm calling it a her for now), but during the evening. I know they're diurnal, so I figured that releasing her at night would put her at a serious disadvantage as she's probably not in top shape from hiding under our couch for at least three days. So for now I have her in a glass jar with a branch I pulled from my front yard, and she seems to be chilling pretty well. I also managed to catch a very small flying insect (possibly a tiny moth?) and put it in there, but it appears to have died. :\

And of course, I have pictures. :D My camera has a pretty good macro function, so I have some decent detailed shots up close of her scales. She may look a bit big because of how close up they are, but the length of her body (not including her tail) is roughly the length of the first two joints on my pinky finger, and I have pretty small hands.

I'm guessing because of the visible ribs that she's a bit hungry. :\

Quite possibly one of the coolest pictures I've ever managed to snap.

Let's hope she can make one more night here so I can release her tomorrow. :)
