JayKay (been a while since we've heard anything of him, eyh?) has left KL. Hope the bugger is having a good time in Sabah. I miss Sabah.
Gia?
Ke Ke,Sabah. bah~~
I've been spending more time than usual with (dad's side) grannerz lately. Not that I mind that all too much. She likes my driving better, so I'm happy.
[scene : in my car, listening to music, on the way to Terawikh]
her : siapa nyanyi ni?
me : Her name's Stacey Kent. Good stuff, yeah?
her : It's very nice.
me : I know! Doesn't your grandaughter have good taste in music?
her : You know, arwah *Tok Papa and you are so alike.
me : In what sense?
her : Dia pun suka lagu-lagu macam ni. Dulu dia selalu pasang.
me : oh... [shrug]
[end]
Later on that night she gave me the enggagement ring my grandfather gave her. It felt pretty significant to be given the ring. I mean, you know it's got sentimental value to her. She told me she can't fit it anymore. That I could keep it. That I should take care of it. That the design is nice. That when you glance at it, you'd think there were diamonds. That it's really all just silver. That the longer you wear it, the more it shines. That she had no one else to pass it to. She mentions little bits of things in between silent moments. I guess staring at the ring a lot doesn't do much to help her stop thinking about things.
She's just had her house renovated. We lived there for a few years before we moved to Sabah and she took over the house. There's tons of old stuff that belonged to my grandfather in there. You can tell she still loves him a lot.
Mum's been a tired out wreck lately. I try to help here and there, but it seems to just get her angry. She's not the only one losing her mind in the household. My biological clock has gone bonkers from the odd hours of prayers & such. Not that that's a bad thing. But, I feel jet-lagged.
Raya is just a few days away.
So much for posting out raya cards this year. I'm such a slacker.
I also just realised I haven't watched TV in a while (except for break fast). Wonder what this year's Petronas Raya advert is. They're always so good at bringing on the tears.
Going to ziarah my (mum's side) grandad today.
The man had 2 wives. I have this 'thing' about the 2 wives thing...
not my favourite...thing...
His 1st wife (mum's mum) went through depression for a while. She still calls me by the wrong name a lot. But she's a sweet little lady.
Sweet little lady with a history of driving a caravan around Europe for a holiday because she wanted to.
