::I actually didn't get into the G4TV until it was already Attack of the Show.::
As I undersatnd it, HZ, the network was in a constant state of flux from the late Nineties until now - from ZDTV, to TechTV, to G4TechTV, to G4TV. The first two iterations were technology programming on a variety of topics coming out of San Franciso - mostly magazine-show style, with a few entertainment shows like ANIME UNLEASED. The San Francisco vibe might explain the use of Diane Mizota as host of FILTER (there was a lot of multiethnic on-camera talent on ZDTV/TechTV, including former FRESH GEAR HOST/current CNN correspondent Sumi Das, and the late C/Net editor James Kim). When TechTV merged with G4 (an all computer-game network), the emphasis moved to largely computer games (EXTENDED PLAY, TechTV's sole gaming program, became X-PLAY - and rapidly, the flagship of G4TechTV, and currently just about the only show on G4TV with an actual audience!), the network moved to Los Angeles, and the on-air talent got more and more Hollywood. It's only in the last couple years they totally chucked any interest in technology and started flailing around for SOMETHING that'd get them an audience - other than endless repeats of X-PLAY!
::Even though I don't agree with her views on comics, it's nice seeing Blair Butler out there representing for the comics fans. Oh, Olivia Munn mentioned on her myspace that Blair Butler wrote that sketch.::
It's one comic fan's opinion - on national television! :) You know, you MIGHT consider doing a podcast of your comic reviews, if you think she's wrong most of the time.... ;)
Blair Butler also happens to be one of the few bright spots G4TV has (she was Head Writer of X-PLAY for a long time) - I think that's why she's starting to pop up on AotS so much lately. If the Wonder Woman sketch is a sign that AotS is willing to have Blair take over the writing on it rather than just submitting a few sketches and doing once-a-week comic reviews, maybe it'll start being worth watching.
::As a side note, I'm really enjoying White Tiger. I generally like to pick up at least the first issue of any book featuring a Hispanic character because I like to promote Latinos and Latinas in the comic fandom, but this is actually one that I still read past the first issue and I hope Marvel decides to let it keep going!::
Why, thank you! :) We're trying to write Angela as a strong Hispanic female superhero, and it's good to hear our efforts are appreciated. We hope Marvel keeps the series, or at least the character, going, too - but we still don't know what's happening past Issue 6.
