Peter had spent the whole flight back thinking about this talk. How to approach it, what to say, everything he could do and shouldn't say. He sat in his room, looking at that comment and wondering what had happened and if this was his marching orders. And why that idea upset him so much. He pushed back the upset until he just felt angry and then slunk from his room to the living room, pausing in the doorway and folding his arms over his chest, watching Peter with hooded eyes. "Yeah?"

"I... that is... you need to know..." He winced, looking away yet he knew he couldn't do that. He made himself look back. "She was there. Simone."

He wasn't sure why Peter was telling him this. Or what it meant. He knew Charles and the Petrellis were friends of a kind, Peter had said that. So it sort of made sense, with her father's death, to play nice with the new heir of the Deveaux legacy.

He turned, staring at Isaac. "Even if I hadn't gotten the creeps from the way she was looking at me - and let me tell you I'm used to being stared at like I'm a walking wallet, even like I'm chocolate to a starving woman but she looks at you like she is picking you apart bone by bone to see what you have to offer. "She's not-" Wasn't she? Only, there was nothing to get from him. He didn't have anything. "Why'd she keep trying to get back with me if she only wanted something? She's not that bad."
He winced as he bit too deep and drew blood. "But... thanks. The thing, about being an ex and all. Thanks."

He was pacing again, feeling stupid and rude and completely messed up and he didn't know why.

"I- thanks." He meant it, even if it sounded a bit flat. "You would be. Except for her mantis like tendencies. She'd probably eat you alive. That aside, you'd make a gorgeous pair."

He rubbed his elbow again, fingers pushing under his sleeve to push over track marks. "So... you're not about to give me marching orders?"
Reply
"Isaac... why the hell would you think that?"
