Tonight (Jan 12th) is the last night for naked-eye viewing of the brightest comet to be seen from earth in 30 years. Just after sunset, still in the sun's glow, very close to the horizon will be comet McNaught, which is now between the earth and the sun.

I wrote this in 2003 - is this the piece you are looking for? If not let me know. I have a small library of Sean Cille stuff on my external hard drive that goes all the way back to your original seminars... monk
CHAPTER TBD - Sean Cille Equivalents to Others Systems
A. Introduction
There is a colloquial division of human existence into body, mind, and soul.
However, there is a historical model that is at least a thousand or more years old in Kabalistic thought that divides the that system into three basic Paths: 1) The Path of the Intellect (POI); 2) The Path of the Emotions (POE); and 3) The Path of the Body (POB).
These Paths have methodologies of ‘meditation’ associated with them. I think they might be better called methods of esoteric insight since they are not all ‘meditation’ in the common use of the word though they are spiritual exercises designed to focus one’s attention fully, or more fully, on the divine.
I will endeavor to compare these paths to the various circles in Sean Cille and show the connection.
B. Kabalistic Background
Here is a connection of Paths to Methodologies:
POB - Breathing Exercises/Ecstatic Dance (Physical act of breathing/Physical motion). Essentially these are exercises of MOTION.
POI - Classic meditation with a focus on topics of religious/spiritual studies. Essentially these are exercises of the WILL.
POE - Formal daily prayers and devotionals to deity. Essentially these are acts of SPIRIT (whether it be divine or otherwise).
C. Sean Cille Background
The Sean Cille Circles exist as follows: Circle of the Sword (COSw), Circle of Song (COSo), and Circle of Spell (COSp).
Here is a connection of Circles to Methodologies:
COSw - Breathing Exercises/Martial Arts Exercises (Physical act of breathing/Physical motion). Essentially these are exercises of MOTION.
COSo - Musical training and studies. Essentially these are exercises of the WILL.
COSp - Formal spell/circle work and devotionals to spirit or the divine. Essentially these are acts of SPIRIT (whether it be divine or otherwise).
D. Sean Cille/Kabalistic Comparisons
POB - MOTION - COSw
POI - WILL - COSw
POE - SPIRIT - COSp
While the Circle of the Song does not exactly cross over into the Path of the Intellect, one can argue that bending sound to ones will is an intellection exercise (at least at first).
There is also mentioned, in 12th century Kabalistic literature (Rabbi Maimaledis), a Path of Love that is an amalgam or composite path composed of the Path of the Emotions and the Path of the Body. Perhaps the Circle of Song falls more properly into that Path. But, for the sake of satisfying my own need for organization I have placed it opposite the Path of Intellect.
Regardless, one can see that the spiritual, intellectual, and physical exercises of Jewish Kabalistic practices (and their European Christian/Renaissance counterparts) can be integrated into one’s Sean Cille work.
