Two incidents of losing sleep follow two sessions of joy. The first was Saturday, when I joined Sar and her friends at a campsite in William O'Brien state park. We roasted marshmallows, made some "hobo" food thing cooked in aluminum foil, and sat around the fire. The drive to the site was beautiful. The St. Croix River was lined with yellow and orange leaved trees, the weather was somewhat warm, and steamboats glided upriver. It was very picturesque, and driving through Stillwater brought back memories of visiting my grandparents.

That night Paul kept me awake with his stupid voice chat on WoW. I was mightily pissed. I hit the hay Sunday night at 9 p.m. to make up for it.

Last night I should have been drawing for hours. And I was. But only after playing Halo 3 with Tex and Tony for far too long. I got five hours of sleep and today I go to work almost immediately after getting home.

But we had a lot of fun. I don't get to play with them often. I was happy Tony is enthusiastic and mouthy as ever, and even when we lost, just getting to work together made it all fun. Tex can't stand losing, but it's only a game. I'll get to that later.

There was one match where a teenage nerd with the nick "Seansshaft" ruined the game for us. He was on our team but was essentially with two players from the other team, his friends or clan I suppose. He drove them to our base and gave them intelligence. We couldn't kill him because we would get booted from the game, so it was a frustrating Catch-22 until I did the one thing I do best: piss people off. I started the harassment, asking him if the football team kicked his ass and the usual stuff that, although cliché', actually works against these angsty teenage idiots. Next thing I know he's betraying people - myself included - and we were able to boot his ass. Unfortunately we still lost the game.

I was actually somewhat incensed about that, but I take the rest of the game a lot less seriously now. I wish Tex and Paul would learn to do the same. Tony's never had a problem with this, but some days you would think Tex and Paul can't distinguish video games from reality, and they go into them with whiny attitudes to begin with.

Anyway, right now I'm in typing class, where technically I am typing, so I'm safe. My body is moaning "WTF, why aren't we asleep?" and the only thing keeping me going is the desire to tell the stories.

I visited Sarah Monday. We worked out at her second job, Snap Fitness, and watched The Bachelor. This episode was more predictable than the last. Watching her roommate Laura react to things on the show, and being able to squeeze my girl on the couch were better than the show. It was a pretty solid evening.
