From Glacia to Spira to Tokyo City to Edge (Tuesday June 4, Fandom time)
I need you to go to Reno and Rikku and get all of the potions, ethers, elixers, frog potions, and whatever else they can spare...
She went to Rikku's world first. Reno wasn't there when she arrived, so Momoko and her 'big sis' spent a little while catching up and then Momoko explained her mission. Trading ensued, along with a short trip (killing fiends along the way, when they could) to a neighboring city where they could buy some armor that they hadn't been able to trade for. It was basic stuff, but there was at least some magic protection built-in that would give the army a chance to survive a shot or two.
When she'd loaded herself up as best she could, Momoko caught a portal home to Tokyo City. She left her things in her room and then went to explain to her family what was happening in Glacia, what she was doing to help, and that, while she was going to be gone for most of the summer, she would call whenever possible. They'd met Karla before, of course, and were a little shocked to hear that they'd actually had a queen eating rice at their dinner table, but they seemed to take the rest of the news... Better than she'd expected, actually. Her mother was worried mostly because it was a world with magic and they were at WAR, but Momoko explained that away and focused more on the fact that the people had no military experience and were not advanced in science at all.
Her father's face turned an awful dark shade when Momoko described the condition of the army, and mid-sentence of Momoko re-telling one of the horror stories they'd gotten from the villages so far about the ruling Queen and Hobart, he got up and silently left the house. Momoko worried all over again that she had upset him; yes, this was a war, but there were people who needed her! It wasn't being a hero, necessarily, but her friends were in trouble and she could help! Couldn't he see that?
She continued talking with her mother, mostly trying to assure her that she would indeed be coming home. That this was just another job... That Momoko knew what she was doing.
Just as she was sure she had her mom on her side, the front door opened. "Momoko. Come help carry these up to your room."
Her father's voice didn't sound upset so much as frustrated, and Momoko breathed a sigh of relief as she left the kitchen to see what he was asking for.
There at the door were a number of very large trunks.
"Will these be enough to hold what you are taking back?"
Momoko rushed to hug him. "DAD! Seriously? I totally thought you were mad!"
"I am." He hugged her back. "But not at you. Take a look inside the small long one."
Momoko gave her father one more squeeze, then let go to look in the box. it was full of various sizes of tama, several katana, and two samurai bows with a complement of arrows.
"Dad..."
"Will they be okay? Will Karla-chan be able to use them against that Cobalt guy?"
"Where... where did you get these? And so fast!"
He refused to tell her. "But Karla-chan can use them? Her people?"
Momoko beamed at him. "Dad, they're just right! And I'm sure Jono can find the perfect people to use them!"
"Good." He sighed, then smiled and reached out to rest his hand on her head, not quite ruffling her hair. "Keep Karla-chan and the rest of them safe, Momoko."
Momoko went red at the confident and proud tone she could hear in his voice. "Dad..."
"Ah ah..." He interrupted her, smiling cheerfully as he reached for the handle of one of the empty trunks. "Let's get these upstairs. Didn't you say earlier that you had a portal to catch for more supplies? And when did you eat last? Your mother was making stew for dinner, but I'm sure she can make something else if you're in a hurry."
Momoko couldn't keep the smile off her face as she followed him up the stairs with the heavier trunk
