Momoko was by no means an authority on war or medicine, but she was determined to help Karla's people as much as possible. And while she was limited in other areas, between her years as a hero, her time at Fandom High, and her time at the Police Academy, she did have quite a lot of first aid training!
(
So it was that a few days after her talk with Jono, Momoko was now faced with giving her first lesson to a small hand-picked group of the volunteer Landens that hadn't quite made Jono's cut. )

Momoko could have seen Dinah arguing with her Warlord horse for a little bit, ears forward, ears back, stomping, then a sag as Dinah persevered. Then she mounted him, bareback, and began to trot around the camp.
After about ten minutes, crying and whimpering would be heard and a limping Dinah would be seen over at the edge of camp, holding her head.
"Oooowwwwww..."

Momoko was pleased to see that more than half of the group was scrambling to Dinah's aid. They couldn't tell if she was Blood or Landen (which was the point) and still they'd worried. Even the ones who hadn't left off what they were doing were looking concerned!
SCORE ONE FOR THE TEAM!
Momoko waved the rest of the group to join her and made her way over to where Dinah was wobbling.
"Are you okay, mi'lady?" one man was asking, hanging slightly back as a middle-aged woman reached out to steady Dinah.

"No jewel. She must be a noble."
"What did you hurt, girl? Can you hear me?"
"Is she okay? She's gonna fall! Someone get some water."
"She looks like she's from a southern village. And here I thought she was my cousin."
"She isn't bleeding, is she?"
"If she's a noble, we're going to be in trouble if she dies. Get a healer!"
"He's right; better leave her alone and get a healer."
... Momoko facepalmed.

SWOOOOOOOOOOOOON. Dinah faked passing out, onto the woman next to her who'd been trying to help her.
Give her props, Momoko. She didn't giggle!

The woman she fell onto was actually a very motherly type, and fairly strong, so she easily caught Dinah. Which was a good thing since the rest of the crowd seemed to step back. There were gasps and more calls for a healer, and Momoko finally stepped up.
She clapped her hands to get everyone's attention. "Class exercise! We have a person here who is injured. Now we need to do some emergency first aid!"
"We should go get the Healer!"
"No!" Momoko shook her head. "We need to learn to do without healers, remember?"
"But she's a noble!" The woman holding Dinah lowered herself to the ground, keeping Dinah in her lap. "If she dies..."
"Then we haven't done our job. And we lose an ally," Momoko shrugged. "Why does it make a difference if she's noble or not?"

"I think she must have hit her head," someone to the side said, sounding worried.
"Dear, can you tell us your name?" the woman who was holding her up asked, trying to keep her composure.
Dinah smiled at her, then looked around in confusion. "Name? I... Dinah. I'm Dinah. Yes. What am I doing here? Oooo, my leg."
"Is that the only place you're hurt?" the woman checked.

Dinah pointed to her skull. "It's right here!"
Someone to the side snickered.

The woman who'd been holding her up blinked, then chuckled. "Now, that was a quick recovery."
The man turned red, looking down at the stick, and said, "If you wouldn't mind, I'll give it a go."

Only a few of the group looked out towards the trees, and Momoko made notes of who they were. Totally going to work on them!
"What was point number two? ' be ready to take care of your own wounds or to help the person next to you, no matter who they are.'"

There were a few more snickers, then the man who'd been speaking to Momoko got to work on Dinah's 'leg injury.'
"What are we meant to do about her head?" A younger woman wondered. "I mean, how do we know if it's more serious than just fainting and confused?"

Momoko looked over the legwork. "Good! But let's do it this way, here." She shifted the sticks being used. "This way we can hold her leg in place and, if she does recover, she can possibly walk on it. She may have to."
"Now, she's fainted, so we need to get her off the field of battle. If she were still awake, we'd make her walk... And remember, if this happens, you won't have a whole group to help."
