Momoko shrieked in frustration. Internally of course. He was her father, no matter how old she was or how crazy the declaration that she go to her room.

She grabbed her phone and sent a quick message to Jaime:

My dad just grounded me. Forever. No mention of threats to you but my mom's eye was totally twitching. Xray all packages before opening

Jaime was trying to not here the low murmur of voices from the kitchen.

I think your mom is on the phone with mine right now.

Momoko blinked at the text.

Oh no. That was not part of the plan!!!!

Jaime stared at that text.

But getting grounded was? Because that sounded bad to Jaime, and he was trying pretty hard not to panic.

That's just dad. I was totally expecting him to over react. Like when he didn't talk to me for weeks abut first moving to EP?

So you're expecting to be grounded for weeks?

Because that was bad. Jaime could live with it, since it wasn't forever and he knew where she'd be, but... still bad.

Kuriko is going to be home soon and will talk to them. That's the plan. Then I will talk to them again and it will all be fine. This is just the first part.

Jaime blinked. Um... I'm afraid to ask, but what's Kuriko supposed to say to make your parents not think this is a bad idea?

I'm not sure. But she said she could do it. And I totally paid her enough. At least it will be someone not me talking to them. Though why would they call your parents?

Jaime was still trying not to hear them out there. Probably to ask them what's wrong with their son, and how can they live with themselves since he turned out so horribly.

Don't be silly. My parents would never suggest that!

Maybe it's just asking if they know about it? Last time I made big plans, I didn't tell you so they may think you don't know?

I suppose that's possible, but I still think I'm close to right.

It sounded like Momoko's dad, at least, had gone up like a volcano... Which totally wasn't Jaime's imagination running wild in interpreting events. Nope!

If he was exploding, that was actually a good sign! He would be able to sit still and listen faster!

Are you really worried? Do you want to not do this?

I still want to do this, but I don't want your parents to hate me.

That would make it a lot harder on them when they got married.
