So, I really hate to say this, but Im rather disgusted by how terrible Laguna Beach is. I have watched numerous episodes now since there is sadly not much better on between Degrassi from 9:00 - 9:30 and Degrassi from 10:00 - 11:00, so this isnt based upon seeing it one time or anything. I have also seen several episodes multiple times.
So, as for my opinion, and this is going to be rather short because Im exhausted and just dont have that much to say about it, it is one of the worst shows in the entire world. I know what they were going for. Its completely obvious. However, its painfully obvious that it didnt work. It feels very much like a drama soap opera reality tv show, but it has the weird camera angles and "real life" acting of well, real life. This is where the painful obviousness comes in, though. It is not real life acting at all. It just hurts to watch how terrible it is. It doesnt seem natural. It doesnt seem like a home video. It seems like a bunch of kids thrown onto stage reading a script from a TelePrompTer for the very first time. Its awkward and fake. Its unnatural and rigid. It is missing that flow that real life speech and movement and word choice and everything else that real life encounters have to offer.
Laguna Beach = poor script + terrible acting + unskilled camera operators + beautiful environment + slutty girls + high schoolers who look to be in college and act as if they were in the 4th grade + beaches that make the sand white, that make the sand all romantic and shit + you like how I just incorporated gatsbys american dream lyrics into this + 1101 + 1101 means 13 in binary + my eyes burn really bad + a bottle of aquafina + two socks and some jesus sandles, amen.
