Today I went to go see Bravo Company come in from Iraq. It was a great experience...very emotional(for me at least). It made me proud to be an American. Its not even funny to see how much pride I have in my country.
As soon as I saw all of those troops all lined up as they turned the corner I just started to cry, little trickles. We marched along side of them with our flag and greeted them, and thanked them, and let them know how proud of them we were. Than some guy got up and gave a speech, and than we all sang for the National Anthem, and I looked at them, and that was when I really started to cry. It made me so happy to see all of those guys down there, safe. But than it made me extremely jealous because my hero wasnt down there, he is still over seas, in the mountains of Afghanistan, searching for Osama, in the line of fire. I miss him so much, and he is so brave. Dispite my tears, I still held my head high, and said the Pledge Of Alegance, loud and proud. Because I am proud, Im proud of those soldiers, Im proud of my cousin Tim, Im proud of President Bush,Im proud to a part of such a great nation. I was a little disapointed because it was a small turn out. I was expecting more people, it just made me a little upset to see that so many people who have nothing else to do werent there. They werent there to welcome the people who havent seen America in 14 months, the Americans that make this country so great. I know that everyone that did show up there all had something in common...They have all been directly been effected by the wise measures that our Leader has choosen. I know that this is something that I will never forget, lately I have been thinking about it everyday, more than once. God Bless America.
Love,
Jessica
