Title: Charm
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Hmm, kinda Nathan/Pia
Disclaimer: Not mine, no money being earned.
Spoilers: None
Warnings: Little incesty, so be warned.
A/N: What if Peter had been born a girl?

Pia was pretty in the ways only bratty little sisters can be. It used to be dark brown pigtails and skinned knees. Then a few years later it was that Goth crap. Nathan wasn’t around much for that, but he’s got his Ma’s exasperated phone calls and they paint quite the picture.

Pia with dyed black hair and pale make-up, Doc Martens on her feet and wild black outfits that don’t cover all they should. She’s sent home from school a few times before the school gets a donation for a new pool and the complaints stop. Nathan has no doubt some of his ‘donation’ went into the Headmaster’s pocket, but that was to be expected. As long as his sister isn’t kicked out, he doesn’t care.

Now at eighteen, Pia Petrelli is beautiful, her hair back to it’s natural dark brown and cut into some style that lets it float around her shoulders. Her make-up is subtle and her cocktail dress is stylish. She looks older and laughs with some gray-haired man that Nathan knows for a fact likes his mistresses dumb and young. He interrupts them and guides Pia into a dance. This is her graduation party, but she knows as well as he does that the main focus is for their parents to be seen and make contacts.

They move together like they were born to do it and Nathan remembers Pia standing on his feet as she helped him ‘practice’ his dance steps. When the dance is over they share a few minutes on the balcony. It’s hot out, but not humid.

Nathan stares at Pia for too long, before he brushes a thumb across her lips.
They don’t have the boundaries other siblings have but in public they pretend. Sometimes there’s an ache in Nathan’s chest and before he can call her, Pia shows up at his place and they watch movies, talk, and just curl around each other on the couch.

He has the vague idea that they should stop, but the one time he brought it up, Pia threw a coffee cup at his head and told him there was nothing wrong with them. The desperation in her eyes made him agree and later, she massaged his back in apology.

She smiles at him and pulls him close for a hug. “Thanks for the apartment. How’d you know I wanted my own place?”

Nathan laughs and tugs at a lock of her hair that refuses to stay out of her face. “I know you. Now let’s get back to the party. Tomorrow you can come over and try to convince me ‘Frankenstein’ is the best horror movie ever.”

Pia threads her arm through his and laughs. “It’s a date,” she teases before they go back in.

Title: Day glow
Rating: PG-13

Genre: Gen

Sheila is thirteen years old and spends most of her time in the field behind her house. From the field, she can’t hear her dad screaming at her mom anymore. On a hot muggy morning, something falls out of the sky. She brushes dark blonde hair out of her face and squints. It looked like a body. She’s always been more curious than was good for her, and goes looking.

The man is pale and naked. She’s tempted to cover her eyes, but then the man coughs and makes a noise she’s only heard a hurt animal make.

She leans over and touches his shoulder. He turns over and Sheila’s first thought is he’d be cute if his face wasn’t so and she gasps and falls back on her ass. The skin and bones in his face are moving like something from an alien movie. She moves back even more, but something won’t let her leave him here. The field is full of old cars and door-less refrigerators. It gets cold at night and he looks harmless.

Calling herself all kinds of stupid, Sheila looks for something to drag him on. She comes up with a big piece of cardboard but when she brings it back, the man is gone. Before she can wonder, he appears again right where he’d landed. She makes a squeaking sound and drops the cardboard.

Sheila wants to tell someone, but her dad is asleep and her mom is at work. If she wakes up her dad to tell him about some invisible guy he’ll smack her for sure. Another groan and this time his eyes open. He looks at her, looks around. His voice is hoarse as he asks, “Nathan?”

“I don’t know who that is. You-um want some water?” She holds out a bottle and her hand shakes a little. He takes the bottles and sips.

“Where am I?”

“Lafayette, Mississippi. You fell out of the sky.”

He studies her. “You’re awfully calm about this. Did you call the police?”

Sheila shrugs. “My momma says nothing much scares me. Says I ain’t got a lot of sense.” She stops, embarrassed. Like he cares about her life. “Oh, no I didn’t call the police. I didn’t think they’d believe me.”

She turns as a voice calls out, “Peter!” A man is walking towards her. He’s looking at her, then back at the guy. Where’d he come from? She turns to the first man. He goes invisible again, before coming back with white gunk over his eyes. They clear and she asks, “You Peter?”

He nods weakly and takes another sip of water. The other guy comes up and kneels beside Peter. “You scared the crap out of me, Pete. Let’s get you home.”

The second guy looks at her again like he’s trying to see inside her head. “I’m Nathan.” He holds out his hand and smiles. Sheila giggles and shakes his hand. He’s handsome, like some movie star. He laughs at her laugh and picks Peter up. He studies her and she says before he can get it out. “I won’t tell.”

Peter grunts and says, “Thanks, Sheila.”

They fly off and Sheila watches until they’re specks in the sky. Back at her little hideout, made of crates and fridge doors, she pulls a notebook out of her backpack and opens it. Inside, written in purple, sparkly ink, is a list. Items one through four are checked off. She draws a line through the fifth item, ‘man falls out of sky.’

Nathan thinks about Peter dying and coming back over and over. A cat might have nine lives, but Peter has more. What goes on between the time he dies and when he wakes up again? What does it do to a person when they can tuck their bones back into their body or survive a nuclear explosion? How much of the real person remains?

There are secrets in Peter’s eyes now. Two very long years of living and dying have put them there. Things Nathan has said and done have put them there. Nathan misses eager, naïve Peter, the one that came to him one day, and said he’d dreamed of flying again.

His daughter is never far from his thoughts in this matter either, but maybe because she’s younger or didn’t grow up a Petrelli, she seems happier, more well adjusted.

These days, his brother is more serious, more intense. He still smiled, but the smiles were as false as the ones Nathan used to use while campaigning. Nathan’s busy being a Congressman, but Peter’s busy saving people all over the world. It’s not like Nathan can brag, but he can worry.

He knows Peter knows this by the twist of Peter’s lips, and the heated look in his eyes. He tells Nathan that no one worries about him anymore, no one except Nathan. He tells Peter to stop reading his mind. Peter says he will, but his eyes slide away and it didn’t take a mind reader to know Peter’s lying. So Nathan learns to think in layers. That way Peter can skim, read, but still not know what Nathan is really thinking.

When Peter does his reappearing act in Nathan’s office, Nathan leashes the joy and pushes it deep. These days, Peter just looks at him; hair all slicked back, with his five-o’clock shadow and dark eyes. He answers some of Nathan’s questions about where he’s been and what he does, but other questions he ignores.

His smile is a smirk these days, and Nathan tries to remember at what point Peter started looking dangerous without radiation glowing from his hands.

A/N: Part of my "tattoo verse AU where Peter did not grow up a Petrelli"

Summary: Peter takes Nathan somewhere to experience a first time.

Peter made sure the place was clean. Lot of tattoo places to pick from and this seemed like the one that would make his brother comfortable. Peter watched as Nathan took off his buttoned up oxford, or whatever the fuck rich boy brand name shirt, and talked to the artist. The artist nodded and reassured Nathan, though Peter had already done that with a blowjob and promises of another one later.

His skin felt tight as Nathan unbuckled and unzipped. A flash of pale skin was enough to have Peter swallowing and wondering if he’d be missed if he stepped into the bathroom for a quick jerk off. Nathan looked up like he knew what Peter was thinking and Peter figured if anyone did, his long lost brother did.

They didn’t grow up together, but the way they moved and twisted in and out of each other’s lives would be scary, if not for the blood that they had in common. Peter can’t explain it any other way.

Peter moved closer as Nathan pointed to the spot where he wanted the stylized P. It was going to look perfect on that soft vulnerable spot where thigh and groin met and right below his hip. Peter couldn’t wait to run his fingers over it, to let his tongue touch it and then suck Nathan into his mouth. That wouldn’t happen for awhile, but Peter could wait. He was impatient for a lot of things but for this, he could wait.

Nathan would tell his wife the P was for Petrelli, something he got done while with his old Navy buddies, but Peter knew it was for him. Nathan would never get a tattoo for anyone else. Peter watched as Nathan took a deep breath and relaxed. The quiet buzz of the tattoo gun was a familiar one to Peter. He’d gotten his first tattoo when he was sixteen.

He lightly touched the blank spot below his ribs on his left side. His turn was next and with no one he’d owe an explanation to, he’d decided on Nathan’s full name. Deep down where he mostly ignored his feelings, he sort of wished that this was going to be his first tattoo.
