“You knew didn’t you? You knew what I was and did nothing!”
“Yes,” she said quietly, staying calm as ever. Eden wasn’t the kind of person to get worked up about something. With the power of persuasion at your disposal she could easily correct any mistake she might have made and she had used it for that reason many times before.
It’s exactly what she was doing now, correcting the mistake of helping in the capture of Sylar. Something about him fascinated her young mind.
“You’re admitting it?” Sylar asked, stepping closer to the glass that was separating them.
“I am,” Eden answered, putting her hand on the glass, looking him in the eyes, “I stood by and watch you kill while the power to stop you was in my hands,”
Sylar rested his look on her tentatively and looked her up and down. What he wouldn’t give for a power that would allow him to read her mind. Her face showed absolutely no emotion which made it hard for him to figure out if she was being serious.
“Why?” he asked.
“You have the power to see what makes people tick, you can see into their souls and fix what was broken. Your power is who you are, it’s not something you can fight or control,”
Again he looked her straight in the eyes, finding consolation in both her words and her eyes. He lifted up his hand and put it on the glass across from where her hand touched the cold see-through barrier.
“You understand,” Sylar said, “you know what I am doing,”
This time Eden didn’t say anything back but curled the corners of her mouth upwards just a little, just enough to show him she really did understand.
