Someone posed an interesting theory to me yesterday about Jackie - what if Future!Hiro wasn't sure that Peter would save (or more accurately, be able to save) Claire from Sylar, and so after visiting Peter, he goes to Jackie and tells her she needs to claim she rescued the fireman, and that this will set her up as a target to protect Claire. If you squint at it really hard, you could justify some of Jackie's resentment, anger, and competitiveness towards Claire - Claire having been explained to her as the 'chosen one', and knowing that Jackie will be risking her life to protect Claire and yet can't tell Claire. I thought it was an interesting theory ( ... )

Hiro is essentially the owner (boss's?) son. Even in a strict workplace like Japan, that holds meaning. My guess is: the other employees are used to this nonsense.

It depends on the type of schizophrenia.

Anyone who knows Niki (or is it Jessica? I always get them confused) is pretty much a saint. Even the audience is saying half the time, "Take a pill, lady. And I even know what's wrong with you!" Unfortunately, her life wasn't going so well before her ability.

"I want you out of Micah's life" ... but in the meantime, let me leave him here with you, while my completely ungrateful ass walks out your door without even telling you if I'll ever be back ( ... )

No, it wasn't a key to Gabriel's place. Mohinder broke the door down. The key eventually goes to a box or desk drawer with more stuff leading to Shanti in S2…I think.

What I find weird is the long, navy, button-up, long sleeve sweater-like garment on the back of the door and the water on the table beside the teacup and spoon (Sylar probably hasn't been there in days or weeks since killing Chandra - we see Sylar in another state on the other side o the country presumably within a few days of Mo and Eden breaking in). Ah! Dark room. That answers my "why the weird duct-tape?" question.

Poor Simone. She has real relationship troubles - dad dying, boyfriend killing himself, Peter making sudden changes. No one is stable and there for her, so she can't be really stable for any of the guys (except Nathan, strangely - she was oddly close to him).

How did Riley know these things about Claire? *Had* he been spying on her? I can't see why he would bother. Unless he's a serious predator who picks specific targets. Most serial rapists, sociopaths, and the like go for targets of opportunity. Though I will say if Claire's 'adopted' status had gotten around, then maybe she looked like a target of opportunity. But still, I would have expected him to have skipped the spying and just waited to see which girl got drunkest (or easiest to get drunk) at the party. I mean, he would have totally wasted his time if he'd gotten there and found out Claire had taken a sobriety pledge or simply wouldn't/didn't drink ( ... )

About Nissan Versa - right? Although I never saw many of the cars personally. I saw plenty of commercials, though.

I'll talk about Simone - you mentioned her being empathic in an email. I don't find her particularly empathic, but she listens to what people say (doesn't interrupt or immediately call them crazy, she just states her reality and doesn't explode about her emotions in a violent way - she is…short but I think she has reasons to be: see addicted BF and dying dad). She's very nurturing, but again, she's strong willed and…practical (is that the word?) Probably a decent fit for Peter if Peter were interested in settling down, if he were settled.

Yes, I think she would have been a good fit, but it's hard for me to imagine someone Peter wouldn't be a good fit for. In Simone's case, I think she would have been a lousy fit for anyone with an ambition she disagreed with, like Nathan, or anyone mean, like Claude or Arthur.

Ah, Nathan lied not only about the suicide attempt, but about the reporter, too. That sucks.

She believed him - Simone believed Peter when he said Nathan lied. And that's when Peter kissed her.

That's it!

I guess there’s hope for Peter - he seems logical compared to Jessica’s or Hiro’s… reactions to their powers and their arc/mission ( ... )

Wait, wha-? “Only some of them [Sylar’s supposed murders] involve mutilation of the head or neck.” I’m ignoring that. I do kind of doubt any decently electronically connected law enforcement agency having access to “Sylar’s” murder files, from any state, in any state. This isn’t the 80’s and 90’s anymore. The FBI would definitely know about it, too.

What I take that to mean is that Sylar killed everyone on the scene when he showed up to take a special. So, like, if someone broke into my house right now to kill my boyfriend for his 'ability', the kids and I would be killed as well, but Sylar wouldn't bother to cut into our heads just for kicks. The cops would find one body with skull violated and three other people dead from impalement by household items. I took it to mean that Sylar, early on, took the very practical route of killing all potential witnesses. Sure, he'd like to get the special alone and limit casualties, but he probably didn't wait around for the perfect opportunity.
