Summary-It got the best of you.
You never planned to sleep with Zach, but it happened and so you guess that, somewhere deep in your psyche, you really had planned to sleep with Zach, because when you’re pressed to the backseat of his car, biting your lip in pain, you’re not really surprised.
His breath is hot and sticky like biscuit dough against your neck and he’s mumbling incoherently; it’s just as well though, because the sound of your name on his lips makes you nauseous. You curl your fingers into his arms because, good God, the pain is unreal.
Tears slip from the corners of your eyes and you think lamely that you’re suddenly Meredith and he’s George and so therefore, there has to be a McDreamy. Your McDreamy is thousands of miles away, having great sex with his Addison and you hate her. You hate Peter and Simone, Zach and Odessa. Your tears turn into sobs and through all of the sheer ridiculousness of it all, you manage to reconcile the fact that the indestructible cheerleader is crying because of sex is just too deliciously ironic.
Zach is confused and hurt and half-aroused, but he’s sympathetic. He finds your shirt and averts his eyes as you dress, his blush perfectly obvious in the dim Texas night. You stumble through apologies before climbing out of the car and running, fast and blind, until you’re on her doorstep. She answers, surprised but not unsuspecting, and she guides you to sit down as you spill your whole story; Zach, losing your virginity, relinquishing your naivety in favor of being able to jump off a building and not get hurt. She seems to care but you know better. There’s a man asleep in her room and you can sense that’s she anxious to get rid of you, so you leave, unaware that the man in her bed is your father, Nathan, and that they weren’t sleeping, just hiding.
She tries to get you to stay, begging, pleading. You have none of it and leave in a tiff. You’re you so you don’t feel any pain with Sylar grabs you from behind and then it’s black.
Heaven isn’t quite what you thought it was going to be, but it’s good enough. Jackie is there, and so is Niki. Turns out Sylar got Peter before you and so Peter’s there, smiling that lopsided grin. You’re about to go to him when you hear your name. You turn and are shocked and oddly contented to see Zach and your dad and Nathan and Meredith.
Heaven isn’t quite what you thought it was going to be, but it’s good enough.
