Title: Learning and Knowing, Ch. 1/?
Genre: Slash and an AU, I think. Not sure..
Pairing: Gabriel/Sylar
Type: Anything, I don't care. Whatever you'd like to edit.
Length of story: Well, I know there is going to be another chapter. How many I don't know. Probably a few. Don't know words, but this isn't very lengthy. It's sort of a Prolouge...
Summary Gabriel find out he has a twin named Sylar for the first time. And of course Sylar has some interior motives :D. Thank you to anyone who wants to help me in anyway.
Gabriel smiled to himself as he finally finished putting the old time piece together. Such joy was this small moment. He got up and stretched languidly. Padding to the kitchen, Gabriel made himself some cinnamon tea and pulled out one of his favorite books. Just as he got to the second page, the phone rang.
"Dangit..." Gabriel murmered softly, and got up to answer the phone. "This is Gray & Sons Timepiece Repair Shop, Gabriel speaking, how may I assist you?"
"Oh, my son! You are grown up aren't you?"
"Mom! Oh, no need in flattery." Gabriel said happily. He always felt -really- special when his mom praised him. He didn't know why.
"Well, can my son come over for dinner? There is a small something we need to talk about. I really think we should have talked about it sooner, but really I believe now is the best time." Virginia said softly.
"Of course, Mom! Any time you need me, I'm here."
"All right, and wear a coat on your way here. No need in catching a cold."
"Yes, Mom." Gabriel muttered, twirling the phone between his long delicate fingers. "Bye."
He quickly gathered his things, and called for a cab. Fifteen minuites later he paid the Indian cabman with the beautiful brown eyes his money, and walked to his moms apartment.
"Mom?" he called, tapping on the door. He listened and heard the familar clicking of her heels on the wood. Gabriel wondered sometimes why mom always insisted on wearing them. It couldn't be good for the womans back, he knew.
"Gabriel! My darling! How are you? Come in!" Mom said turning away again, clicking back to the small kitchenette.
"Fine as I was when you called me. What did...you..." Gabriel froze. Not able to speak, barley able to breathe. In fact, he felt as if it was quite a possibly he die from shock. What in the living...
"Hello, Gabriel. My name is Sylar. I'm your long lost twin." said Gabriels voice, in Gabriels body, just not...what..."Are you okay?"
"I...Your....Are you me?" Gabriel said paralyzed to the spot he was standing in the snowball crowded living room.
"No, I'm your twin." his doppleganger said confidently.
"My...twin? I don't have one of those..." Gabriel said quietly.
"Actually you did, Gabriel. I had you both all of a minuite and an agonizing twenty three seconds apart. You were the first to come, then little Sylar came as well. Your father and I were quite shocked, we wasn't expecting such a rare occurance. Though, there were definetly two of you."
"Mom, what are talking about? I didn't grow up with...this! I don't know who this is. He couldn't be related to me could he?"
"He is, but I can understand you not remembering him. Me and your father couldn't honestly raise two children in this apartment. It wasn't possible. So we had to send one of you off to adoption. It wasn't easy, we loved both of you so much. Sylar was so very fond of you, he tottered around every where you went. Seperating you sounded impossible. Eventually we chose to get rid of him though, he seemed to be developing more slowly than you. We hated it, but a week after your three month birthday we sent him away. I never told you, or wanted to for that matter. It be to agonizing to see your reaction."
Gabriel went and sat down on the couch. He mind was spinning around as his world slowly changed. Gabriel was nearly thirty, and he was just finding out he had a brother? His mom has never been the...well, most wonderful person in the world. She always seemed to look at him a little lost. As if Virginia could never decide weather to hug him or cry over him. Gabriel found it odd, sure, but now that it had a reason behind it?
"Gabriel?" his own voice said softly to him.
"Yes, Mr. Sylar?" he replied automatically, it was an ingrained reponse to his name. Not politeness, because right now he just wanted to banish this man from exsistance right now.
"Are you okay? I mean, this is a whole bunch to take in. Can you handle this?"
"I suppose..." Gabriel replied back quietly.
"Come on, let's walk back to your place. We can talk better in private and get to know each other."
Gabriel sighed and nodded. He didn't really want to, but he also didn't want to dissapoint his mother. He looked up and Gabriel saw his mother nodding eagerly at him.
"Alright, then" Sylar chimed, getting up. He held out a hand to Gabriel, but Gabriel purposelly ignored. After telling his mother goodbye, they were on their way. Sylar didn't seem to have the ability to shut up, while as Gabriel said barley a word the whole walk. His mind was going way to fast. Was this the real reason why his dad called the watch shop Gray & Son'-s-? Not just an error in spelling that he never got around to?
"Gabriel? Gabe? Hello in there!" Gabriel jumped when he saw a hand wave in his face.
"What?" he snapped.
"Will you open the door?" Sylar asked, and of course Gabriel could hear the offense in it. The voice -was- his own.
"Sorry, just in deep thought" he lied, and fumbled with his keys until the door opened. "Make yourself at home."
"I will." a suddenly dark sounding voice said. Gabriel shot his head up and saw Sylar standing way to close for comfort in his personal space.
"Sylar, would..." his words were cut off by a mouth pressing to his own. What in the world was happening? Sylar knew they were related, what was he doing? Gabriel fought back, shoving Sylar with all his might. Though, his hands were frozen in midair. As if something were holding them there without really anything being there. Gabriel squirmed in discomfort at the feeling of the cold pressing into his back.
"God, you really are the most beautiful man I've ever seen. You know that?" Sylar whispered into Gabriel's ear, his tounge flicking out and tracing the shell.
"We're related, we're identical twins, there is no difference, and get off me!" Gabriel said, once more trying to struggle against restraints he couldn't see.
"No..." his own voice tinged with darkness replied. "Your going to pay very close attention to me, you are not going to ignore me. Do you understand"
"No!" Gabriel snapped, and he felt his heart pounding in chest. He was never very defiant towards anyone, simply because usually there was no need to be. Being molested by his own twin made him very defiant, though.
"Then I'll have to break you." Sylar hissed and bit down on to his neck, making Gabriel release a howl of pain. "I'll be returning soon. Until then..." Gabriel felt a hard kiss press to his lips and then nothing.
He opened his eyes and gazed around the apartment. Nobody was in it except for him. Gabriel wondered where in the world Sylar went, then noticed the window open. The curtains were blowing softly, though there was no wind. So odd....Gabriel stuck his head out to see if he could see where Sylar might have landed, but there was nothing at all. He couldn't have felt more puzzled. But for now he just headed to the bathroom and took a cold shower. It was going to be a long night.
