In one moment, Nathan’s whole world came crashing down. He didn’t want to believe it, and his heart pounded in his chest, telling him it was a lie. Peter had always defined who he was, what he did with his life, his whole identity. There was no way that he could be dead. That painter, Isaac whatever, that was dating Simone, he painted the future, and this wasn’t, couldn’t be, where Peter died. He couldn’t lose him to such a senseless act of violence, especially not when he had sent him there alone in the first place. This could tear his world apart.
