Calling all fan ficcers and readers!
First off, if this post/plea for help/self-plug is undesirable, I apologize, and I won't be at all offended if the mods that be delete <3
Some of you might have seen me around lately - I've just recently got into the Heroes fandom (I'm a Supernatural transplant), and it's eating me up more and more every day. So while I hope to dive more and more into the show and the comms and fic, becoming more and more of a familiar face (recongizable by Petrellicest icons!), sometimes my grad school stuff keeps me busy, which brings me to my point:
I'm working on a paper right now for my Cultural Studies class in which I'm hoping to give an introduction to fan fiction, particularly slash, explaining on a general level to outsider who we are and what it is we do and why it's important.
I hope in the future to focus my actual dissertation or a project/book of some sorts on slash fandom, and I might enlist your aid for that later too ;)
As a writer and a reader, I want to represent us to the best of my ability, and that means gathering together your voices. I've set up a general survey at my journal, gathering identity data about folks (which will be anonymous in the paper, of course) and then a more extended questionnaire regarding your thoughts on fandom in greater detail. I'd love it if you'd take a look at and answer either or both, and for those of you who complete the entire thing, I promise to satisfy drabble requests ;)
