So my mom left for Syria last night.

Yesterday was a crazy day. I went to track and then I went back home. I did discrete math and math for teachers (I still have a partial lab, but I will finish that today) and I have a test for calc 3 on wednesday. Pretty much, I stayed at home. I hung out with my family and my bro-in-law. People came over and I sold some candles for Circle K's fundraiser for Spastic Paralysis research. Pretty much, Nick, Fadi, and I watched Resevoir Dogs and ate ice cream.

Today will be a bit different though. I'm going to church alone, Fadi and Jameel are going with my dad to fix a leak in Chicago Heights. Nick and Miriram are leaving between the time I leave and the time I get back (at least, that's what I believe so because they made it sound like they were leaving after everyone else left).

My mom is staying in Syria. And when I say that, I mean she got a one way ticket to Syria. My mom wants to help her sisters and nephews and nieces to make sure they adjust well after grandma passing away. However, I do have this uncanny fear that my mom is the one most like my grandma. And if you know my mom (and lots of you do know my mom's behavior when it comes to cleaning), then I wish to say good luck Aunt Nellie, Aunt Lemia, Aunt Vivian and cousins Nabil, Sophie, and Sonya.

However, that doesn't mean she isn't coming back. Jameel, Fadi, and I are going to the Middle East (God forbid anything should happen to prevent us) during the summer for a couple of months. We are staying 3 weeks Syria, one week Lebanon, 3 weeks Ramallah, and 1/3 weeks Egypt. 8/10 weeks or 2 months + (according to my mom's plan). My mom is going to come back with us to the states.

I really want to go to the convention in Alabama in July. However, my sister gave me an argument saying "There are plenty of other conventions", and I didn't say anything, however, how many chances will I be able to go to Alabama? If I have the time and money, then I think I will buy a plane ticket back. Not because I don't want to see my family, but because I have so many other responsibilies as well. Not only do I have the Melkite Convention but I also have ICON (International Convention) for Circle K. That's in August. DCON (District Convention) is coming up on March 3-5. I have to make sure a lot of things aren't sloppy and whatnot. I'm planning to be Lt. Governor for our district (I will be in, sure thing because my school is the only school that can legally hold that position for our district and I'm the only one running from my school).

Yea...
