Friend's stuff

I believe I mentioned that one of the shifts at my store, Tony, just happens to have been my Choir Buddy back in high school. We'd met up once since I graduated, to go to the SF Gay Pride Parade between my freshman and sophomore years, but other than running into each other on Myspace, I hadn't had any contact with him since. (Not that that is terribly out of character for me...yeah, me and my high school social life...) ANYhoo, we met up for lunch today (awesome curry place in SR), and it was really cool catching up. I wasn't sure if we'd really have anything in common; he and I did get along back then (when I didn't really get along with anyone, so that says something), but I've become a pretty different person. I was nervous that the whole thing was going to be super awkward. But we really do have a lot in common, and talking to him was easy and fun. And we both had similar boyfriend experiences, which made for good understanding in such things. Hopefully it'll work out that I get to hang out with him often - he's thinking that I'll make a good Concert Buddy, and I could definitely be up for that.

One thing I did learn was that Dan, my least liked coworker, is actually a pretty good guy once you get past the fact that he's a rule-mongering putz. So there is hope for him yet, which is good, since I prefer laughing at work drama to participating in it. And murder is the purest form of drama.

I also got invited to join a book club by a few people I was friends with early in high school (before the First Great Meltdown). There will probably be a little more baggage there, but I'm glad for another chance to be friends with them. They were really nice people, I'm just crazy and stuff.
