hello! i've been trying to get more into the fandom for a while but i'm trying to avoid the ship wars so i thought i'd come here. i've watch all the anime - sans movie - and only read maybe 40 chapters of the manga. (i jump around in there alot.) my fic will show who my favs are. (^_^) as my journal, AO3 and ff.net pages will show, i tend to write OCs and slash(only if i see the ship.)

Title: Set Aside the Logic
Rating: PG-13/T

While Class 1-A is off on their interships Aizawa finds a friend who's been missing for 14 years. Yamabe Hisae's reintegration into the world not only provides Yuuei with a greater connection to the Underground Heroes, but a bit more understanding of their resident Eraserhead.

Chapter 1: Lost and Found

He stepped out of the hallway, surprised to find Yamabe-sensei sitting at the breakfast table. “Forgive me Aizawa-kun,” he almost pleaded as he raised his right hand and emitted his chi bands - the very thing he’d patterned his capture weapon off of - and bound Aizawa’s arms to his sides, pulling him to sit across the table. “It’s for your own good.” he added, finally raising his head.

The scratches and bandages on Yamabe-sensei’s face, that he suddenly noticed on both arms, brought a million questions to mind; but one fact about yesterday had him jumping to his feet. “What happened? Where’s Hisae!” Aizawa demanded as he felt the bands tighten.

The slight tug on his own energy came at the same time as Hashimoto’s hands on his shoulders pushing him back down. “Respect your dono.” was growled behind him.

Aizawa could feel the lump forming in his throat as the tears welled up in Yamabe-sensei’s eyes. “We were ambushed on the way home from her school. Our quirks were useless against theirs, she was…”

“They took her,” he somehow managed to squeeze the words out. Yamabe nodding had him struggling to get out of the grip and the bindings. “What’s going on? Why aren’t you looking for her? Why didn’t you get me last night!” Aizawa wasn’t quite yelling, but his voice got louder and harder with each question.

“This is exactly why.” Hashimoto snapped as the bonds stole more of his chi, weakening and forcing him to sit as Yamabe’s tears fell silently. “Calm and focus is needed for a search and rescue mission, you are neither. Every Underground Hero from this prefecture and the surrounding ones have been searching since the abduction, word’s being spread across the country and the mainland even as we speak. You may have a provisional license for Aboveground work, but you haven’t even started the process for an Underground license, you would be a hindrance either way right now.” He sighed as Aizawa hung his head. “The strength of her healing quirk is the reason why, remember that. We will find her, no matter how long it takes.” Hashimoto squeezed his right shoulder as his charge nodded softly.

He didn’t even notice as the blue bands tinged purple with his energy slithered away, Yamabe softly added, “Go back to your room Shouta-kun, we already informed Yuuei that you will not be in today.” His guardian helped him to his feet, both men left watching as he slunk away.

“He took this harder than I thought,” Hashimoto sighed as he turned back to Yamabe, “That boy’s too good at hiding his feelings.”

He smiled softly as two more tears rolled down his cheeks. “He told me once that my daughter is the only true friend he's ever had, he was terrified of moving on without her. It’s nice to see that three semesters in different schools hasn’t changed much.”

“There’s a few classmates he talks about, but I don’t think anyone will get as close as Hisae.” Hashimoto added as he showed his friend out. “Let’s hope they stick by him through this.”

[==================]

He sat hidden in the shadows on the nearby roof as the fifth one that night came out of the warehouse in different clothes, practically strutting down the alleyway. He couldn’t help glaring as one brief nod had the hero on the opposite roof dropping to the ground and capturing the thug. A short cough coming through the piece in his right ear had him running down the roof, jumping off and spinning to kick the door in as he landed, quirk and capture weapon active. The three inside froze in the typical confusion of their quirks deactivating, allowing for a quick and easy takedown before he ran to the shipping truck parked inside. Hashimoto dropped onto the roof, his quirk making the whole truck vibrate. The side door on the trailer opened, a man and a woman tumbling out as the reverberations died off. He didn’t even look at them, rushing inside and freezing at the bed stuck to the floor.

The red aura surrounding her was shining through the bedding, gown, and bandages she was covered with. “At least they had the decency to cover the injuries until they healed,” he muttered as he forced himself around the right side of the bed. The bandage covering that side of her face, seeing those indigo curls he couldn’t help messing with cut down to just below her jaw almost had him reaching out to her.

“Hime…” was gasped out behind him, the other two heroes stood at the foot of the bed staring in awe.

He tried to shake his own amazement off as he turned to them both. “Hashimoto, stay here and help the police. Hidaka, get up there and drive, we’re taking her to Yuuei.”

“Why?”

“She doesn’t need a hospital, most of this will be healed in a day. It will be easier to watch over her with half the school gone on their internships.” Aizawa answered as he turned back to the bed, finding the bed restraints tucked under the mattress.

“Yes sempai,” both men bowed before stepping out as he managed to strap her in without crossing the aura. Aizawa barely made it to the only seat as the truck started moving. He pulled out his phone, sending a quick text to four people.

I need to use the infirmary at Yuuei.

Hisae groaning pulled him to the bed, a pinched look crossed her face as the truck stopped at an apparent intersection. Aizawa leaned over the bed, arms holding him over her head as he almost whispered, "It's okay Hisae, I've got you. You're safe now." He couldn't help smiling as the tension left her face. He couldn't help staring, trying to see what else had changed even though she was unconscious with a bandage covering almost half her face. His gaze went from her chopped curls to his own hair hanging around his face, could almost feel the scar on his cheek open up again. So much had changed about him, but from the looks of things, Hisae hadn't changed at all.

The engine shutting off snapped Aizawa into high alert, his capture weapon starting to rise as the door opened. "Calm yourself Aizawa," Nedzu's sqeaky voice paused as he had to literally climb the steps to get inside. "I need to see why you're bringing others not affiliated with the school onto the premises. Oh my!" the principal called out, jumping slightly at the sight of the bed.

Aizawa sighed as he straightened, let his weapon lower enough so Nedzu could use it to climb onto the bed. Nedzu kept climbing when he saw the glow, sitting on Aizawa's shoulder. "So you finally found her after fourteen years, congratulations." Aizawa gave a pleased hum in response. "Of course you can use the infirmary, I have to call Recovery Girl to make sure she brings the stretcher bots. You've informed the authorities, of course."

"Kurogane is waiting for them at the warehouse we found her in. I had to call in a few others." he answered as the animal pulled his phone out.

"Of course, I'll be sure to let in anyone that arrives tonight." Nedzu added as Aizawa knelt down, allowing him to jump off. He turned back, smiling softly at the way his teacher's head hung. "No need for gratitude Aizawa-kun. You've been searching for her for so long, the least I can do is offer your hime sanctuary until proper safety measures are implemented."

He snapped up in shock, the smile on his boss's face had him kicking himself. "I was the one that told you."

"You're too hard on yourself Aizawa-kun, you've had a very shocking surprise tonight." Nedzu countered as Aizawa stood, both turning as the driver stepped in. "Now, you and Hidaka-kun find something to use as a ramp while I get Recovery Girl and the stretcher bots."
