Seize the Night
[an alucard.integral fst]
As a forewarning, this is a most bizarre fanmix for a most unique Master and Servant relationship. It wants to be many things, but doesn’t quite add up the way you think it should be or the way it ought to. It's a movie soundtrack, subliminal foreplay, midnight dance club, rabid hip-grinding, crack-induced musical - with some melodrama mixed in.
I guess it’s a bit like Alucard, really. Oh dear.

I Want You - Madonna ft. Massive Attack (orchestral version) notes
* From Jim Steinman’s musical, Tanz der Vampire (aka, Dance of the Vampires). All the shows have been successful except in America due to story editing against Steinman's wishes. However, the music is acceptable.
Dance of the Vampires is an operatic rock-opera. One part of the story is the vampire Von Korlock, who has his eye on the preacher’s daughter, Sarah. He seeks to seduce her and inviting her to his midnight ball where she can become his queen. But alas, every time he believes happiness is in his grasp, it is destroyed beyond repair. There is magic-induced sleep, horrific nightmares, virginal maidens, walking corpses, onstage humping and bloody neck biting! Oh, and some latin chanting.
** The lyrics don’t quite match up, and Alucard’s moods aren’t always charming when he’s ripping heads and drinking blood, but the chorus, “I could never be your woman” remains. It might have something to do with the addictive hook, the almost-eerie electronic wails in the intro, or the fact that it’s a man who’s singing from the perspective of a woman.
*** Utter crack. A friend of mine laughed until she cried when I suggested this song for the fst. And to her delight, here it remains. This is for her.
